This is a pictorial book mainly in black and white with a Color Section,it is not a full length exhaustive Research into Lola And Eric Broadley but that is fine,Dave Friedman is an excellent Author and photographer of such books,There is alot of detail here, Mainly the FIRST Lola GT(Ford does not deserve the Credit) to the one that escaped to John Mecom and with A Chevy in it! There is also one of my other favorites besides the LOLA GT(CHEVY),is the Sunoco Chevy and there is also The Sunray DX #52 Peter Revson Chevy powered Lola T70 roadster in a small color picture,Coverage on American International Racing (James Garner A.I.R.) as well, there is no Formula type open wheel type cars in the book,only as the title implies CAN-AM And Endurance race cars are covered(some international events from Africa,UK,Europe),regardless this is a great photographic journey in time Whether it's John Surtees Clinching the Can Am With His Beautiful Lola Chevy T70 or The Dominance of Penske.
Summary of Lola: Can-Am & Endurance Race Cars
Lola race cars built by Eric Broadley were among the most successful sport racers of the 1960s and early 1970s. Originally hired by Ford to design its GT40, Broadley went on to design a series of successful Can-Am cars, as well as coupes for endurance events like Le Mans, Sebring, and Daytona. Lolas from this period were driven by a veritable "who's who" of motorsports, including John Surtees, David Hobbs, Graham Hill, Mark Donohue, and Jo Bonnier, to name a few.This photohistory focuses on Broadley's Lolas, from the first Mark VI coupe in 1963 through 1974, the last year Lola campaigned the Can-Am series. Thirty-seven individuals were interviewed for the book, resulting in a host of remembrances from drivers, mechanics, and team owners.
