Book Reviews of Life with My Sister Madonna

Book Review: A VERY REALISTIC VIEW FROM SOMEONE WHO TRULY KNOWS THIS INCREDIBLE DIVA!
Summary: 5 Stars

I read this book in one day, I couldnt put it down! It is very well written, and not a "SISTER DEAREST", like you would expect. Instead I found this book very loving, and extremely honest, KUDOS TO CHRISTOPHER!

I cant even imagine what it would be like to have such a force like Madonna as a sister. Christopher tells a story of love about his sister and his family. We ALL have skeletons in our closet, and Madonna is no different. I love her, always will love her, no matter what.

Madonna IS VERY STOIC, with her fans, she never signs autographs, or talks with them, she rarely has. This says something itself, no matter how big you are, and how busy you are, your FANS made you what you are today. Madonna does not realize this anymore. Even OPRAH, who is a huge celebrity and extremely wealthy, signs autographs and talks to her fans.

Christopher has painted the portrait of a very troubled woman, who needs to pay less attention to her religious views, which she believes will heal all. It truly sounds like she is in denial of her own issues, just because you are a true success, it doesnt mean you couldnt benefit from therapy!

What i found the most shocking, is how Christopher tells has how cheap she is@! With all that money, nickle and diming???? I dont get it. You only live once, why be frugal with people, especially family! Snubbing the gay community??? Please!

Who made you, Madonna? Not the Kabbalah, Not Guy Ritchie, but all the queens! It's time to get back to your roots! We want the fun, unbridled Madonna, not the uptight soccer mom!

Thank you Christopher Ciccone, for what I believe is a true account of your famous sibling!

Book Review: Madonna : the mystery reveals itself !
Summary: 5 Stars

I was a bit skeptical about buying this book as I have heard so many rumors surrounding it. I mean the die hard Madonna fans ( like myself ) either did not , nor would not believe a word of what Christopher wrote saying to themselves and to other Madonna fans ... he was jealous of her fame and fortune , he is saying things because Madonna pushed him out of her life , he is so not telling the truth about anything .... whatever it may be . I found this read to be a very impelling story , one I could not put down and of about 90% of what I read I could see being true. I mean come on this is Madonna we are talking about. She is THE Diva of all time and I guess one could say she deserve to act any way she wants. She was a woman who came from a middle class family , moved to NY and of course we all know that $35 in my pocket and slept on the streets line was bull crap , but whatever happened back then she had the talent , proved to the world she was not going any where and til this very day is THE top female singer of all time. I love and adore Madonna and even if she made a polka CD I would buy it ... I mean come on I even bought the Evita soundtrack and we all know how bad that CD was , not to mention the movie which I also bought. This is what die hard fans do when they love a singer or band. I just want to thank Chrisopher for his insight on Madonna because I totally loved this book to death. I really hope he either adds more to it at a later date or spills more gossip with another book. I have to give this book a 5 star rating and again THANK YOU Christopher I loved each and every page ... and in the words of a Britney Spears song " Gimmie More ... Gimmie More !"

Book Review: A very good read!
Summary: 5 Stars

The book was a very enlightening read. I was a fan in my teens and twenties. However as a professional adult I have grown from all that is Madonna quite some time ago.

Reading about money and Madonna's tightwad grip on it was somewhat sickening, and I am sorry Christopher. How very frustraighting it must have been for you.

I hire people around my house, and I am a photographer. I give far more than agreed within the photography contracts, and to my help. It feels good that I am financially making a difference in their lives, impacting their future. Everyone in life that works next to us that help make us what we are deserves a break.

To have millions of dollars and hold so much of it back is unfathomable and unacceptable. Madonna could have chose to share much more of her wealth with her many staff and given them much more hope. But instead she gave the bare minimum, which is frustrating to read. The painting incident that Christopher writes about in his book is irreprehensible on Madonna's part and quite frankly embarrassing. Who on earth would put their own family in that kind of financial position while they bask in luxury?
I cannot wrap my brain around it.

Giving to charity is good and commendable, but giving to real people that are in your life directly changes their chance at a livable hopeful future.

Any of us can choose to pay our people scale, but it takes balls to pay them much more, to SHARE and to let others become financially free along side us.

And not just by association of our famous name.

My heart goes out to you Christopher.

Wow. What an amazing story. It was a touching story about what Fame and Ego can do to all of us. I made sure to read this book with an open-mind because there's always 2 sides to every tale. I have to say I did at times become full of rage, laughter, frustration, sadness, and in the end optimistic. It does not slander Madonna in anyway ( although the Madonna lunatic fans will disagree). It shows that destroying ones ego is provably the hardest thing one will ever do. It shows that in the end family is important but more than anything else it's accepting other's for what they will always be and love them even more.

Look as a Madonna fan I too know that Madonna didn't make it the way she did by being a Nice Person. I was just honestly surprised that she could easily be brain-washed by people who are cold, manipulating, and calculating. I'm not surprised at all by Ingrid Casares influences and what a bitch she is. Guy Ritchie honestly doesn't seem right to me. I can't believe he has so much control over her . I'm also out-ragged that Madonna has chosen to turn her back on her Gay Audience that made her what she is today. In the end I'm glad Lola was born and that she can test madonna and win.

"Remember that everything in your life is there for one reason and the one reason only: to offer you the opportunity to transform".

I'm so happy I got this book and I hope not only will Christopher heel, but also help Madonna see what is wrong her and help her. In the end if not any of that happens then at least he will make money !

Book Review: Written by a gentleman
Summary: 5 Stars

I found this book to be very captivating and very sincere from a sibling who shares great insight, experience, and truth. There's nothing damaging here at all and finally a little bit of true history from where a legend comes from.
I was fascinated to read about the family history and humble beginnings. Quite normal and actually no different then a lot of other artists starting out. What's so nice about reading this book is that it brings you into a world that's understandable and really makes you feel that you are there up close and personal. A good writer is able to create and set the scene to the point where I felt I was blasted back to the early 80's when this all started.
It's obvious Madonna's brother Christopher loves his sister. He had a story to tell... an adventure he experienced and shared. I do think it's important to realize that in all the years Christopher worked along her side that he always had her best interest and remained quiet. He has every right to express himself as a writer and an artist... An observer as he was... for so many years to one of the most famous women in the world. These experiences made him the person he is today..hardly perfect but then again who is and that's what I like to see....we all make mistakes along the way..even icons.. this is one book that will let you see first hand though her brothers eyes. You can't get any closer to the truth than that. A wonderful read!
