Book Review: Wisdom Gained From Experience

"Life's Missing Instruction Manual" is a collection of Joe Vitale's wisdom interspersed with wisdom from his friends. If you learn just one new idea from this book then it will be worth the money spent. For example, one of the contributing authors describes how she gets her prayers answered. I loved her idea of visualizing the prayer ascending to heaven.
Some of the ideas in this book are similar to "The Secret." If you've read that book then you understand how the universe is supposed to supply you with whatever you want. I prefer to think of the blessings coming from God, but in this book you will also find Joe Vitale talking about the universe.
There is a lot of wisdom in this book but it is sometimes overshadowed by Joe Vitale marketing all his other books. He even gets so bold as to tell the reader that he now has power over them and that they should go buy his other books. This just seemed silly to me and ruins the spirit of the book. One of his ideas seemed rather strange. It was about how getting old is merely a disease and that it isn't normal. I guess he believes that you can have control over aging although to date no one has stopped themselves from dying of old age. I do believe you can make good decisions to keep yourself healthier as you age gracefully.
While reading, I had to agree with the fact that if you change your thoughts you change your feelings and then can change your life. I've seen this work in my own life so I know it is true. This book definitely preaches the power of positive thinking.
In this book you will find information on how to combat fear, how to learn how to forgive, how to be instantly happy and how to learn to listen to people ...really listen. So there is a lot of valuable information that can help you become more successful.
