Lamb is Moore's best book yet. I was unable to put it down in order to sleep or work, and have already read it twice. It tends to be a little ridiculous, but isn't that sometimes the point of humor? An open mind is necessary but it is rewarded. Religious satire tends to be a way too dry field, Moore leaves me gasping for more.One thing Moore excels at is the research he puts into this novel. It is easily accessible to non scholars of the history of Christ, particularly the less speculative parts. The afterword on his research is as entertaining as the novel itself.
Basically, I loved it. Without exaggeration I can honestly say I laughed out loud, and cried as well. It is a beautiful novel that should garner the author even more fans. I suggest it to any fan of comedy or philosophy.
