Book Reviews of KnockemstiffBook Review: So gritty there was sand in my eyes Summary: 5 Stars
If you like it real, then you'll like this book. Pollock plunges his knife in deep and comes up with a slice from the other side in this collection of entertaining short stories. Sad, funny or disgusting, these stories are always honest. They are a testament to what people will do when they have nothing else to rely on but themselves.
Book Review: Astonishingly great! Summary: 5 Stars
KNOCKEMSTIFF is, or certainly should be, a contender for the Pulitzer Prize in my view. Pollock's writing rivals John Banville and Peter Taylor for its creative use of the English language, dialogue, and description; though in a very different setting. The stories are pungent, riveting and stick with you long after the dust settles.
Book Review: KNOCKEMSTIFF IS AMAZING Summary: 5 Stars
Knockemstiff is not for the faint of hearts, not at all. However, Pollock story telling, though maybe not the most elegant and beautiful prose, is raw, gritty, and just plain good. Every story instantly grips the reader and throws them into a whirlwind of pain, and struggle. God, I loved Knockemstiff.
Book Review: Knockemstiff knocks em out Summary: 5 Stars
Demented dark writing of small town ohio life. This is not a book for your mother to read unless your mother has serious problems too. Superb writing in a powerful debut novel.
Book Review: Depressingly riveting! Summary: 5 Stars
Every character in this series is either dimented, pitiful, psychotic, deranged, depressed or in some other way lost. I could not put this book down.
