Book Review: My favorite toy book

I love making knit toys, and I've gotten more than a few books on it. I don't buy books anymore unless I absolutely must have at least two of the patterns, and this one made me fall in love instantly. It's so hard to find good-looking knit dolls, and the ones in this book grabbed my attention. I still haven't made one yet, though- I love everything else so much!
The photos are amazing. Most toy books show one overly-processed glamor shot that only shows one angle of the toy, and this book is stuffed full of photos from multiple angles. The kids modeling the toys are actually playing with them, too! You want to know what this toy looks like when you tug on it a little? Sure, here you go!
This is not a book for beginners, and it's honestly very nice. It still has a list of abbreviations (which is nice when you don't want to go a google search for something simple that you haven't seen in a while), but the pages and pages of instruction that you already know aren't there. This book is chunky with patterns and pictures, not with the same instructions over again. Still, I can imagine that it's frustrating for some people- a pattern for a string of fish I'm working on now, for example, is just a boxy color chart and "make this." The more complicated patterns are more detailed, of course, and I haven't had any problems so far.
I highly recommend this book to people who like knit toys and want interesting patterns.
