Book Review: Visited the statue & museum
Summary: 5 Stars
Our family visited Mauritius and Africa for my 50th Birthday. We pulled off for a break from driving between Hermanus & Cape Town, discovering the statue. We went to the museum, and I promptly bought this book. My younger daughter took over navigation so I could read. I laughed delightedly for several hours, with at least one laugh a page, as we drove. I LOVED THIS BOOK. While I guess the fact that Just Nuisance was a bar hound doesn't make this appropriate for a 5YO, ANY non-Puritanical adult who enjoys animals taking on human characteristics will ADORE this book. My favorite story is him leading 5 Navy enlisteds on another train route to visit his first "owner," dragging them gently by mouth without breaking the skin on their wrists to make sure they followed him. One cautionary note is Yanks may have to get the parlance and then reread the first two chapters, e.g. rating is an enlisted, oppos are friends, etc. Just Nuisance became my #3 favorite thing on the 4-week trip. Would someone make a movie already???
