Book Reviews of Jurassic Park

Book Review: A tyrannosauras review
Summary: 5 Stars

Michael Crichton creates a horrifying master piece called Jurassic Park. A supernatural science thriller that sends chills down the spines of everyone that reads the book. It is a book everyone should read.
Jurassic Park is a book about an amusement park, though this amusement park is much different from any other amusement park. It is a Jurassic Park. A park full of cloned dinosaurs. The man who organized the parks construction was named John Hammond. Before the park was opened to the public John Hammond invited guests he selected to tour the park. All the characters John invited were very intelligent in different ways. Dr. Allen Grant was a well respected paleontologist and his student Ellie Sattler was on her way to becoming a paleontologist. Ian Malcolm was a mathmaiton that specialized in the chaos theory. The last guest invited was an investor from Ingen. These were not the only characters in the book Jurassic Park, though they were key characters in the book. John Hammond thought he had all the dinosaurs under control until something went very wrong. The parks pone lines and power went out. All the dinosaurs were free to brake through the electrical fences. The worst part was that know one knew how to get the power back on. Now they are being hunted why they are desperately calling for help. The fast action sequences will leave a person wanting more. If a person read this book they would half to read the sequel. Michael Crichton ends Jurassic Park with an excellent twist. People that don't like Michael Crichton should change there mind.

A Review by Aaron

Book Review: Michael Crichton succeeds with an amzing novel!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is arguably the best Michael Crichton book ever! The story, revolving around a group of people trapped in an amusement park with no power and man-eating dinosaurs is kind of a combination of already invented themes, but none were ever executed so intelligently. Most of us know the story, so I won't go too much in detail. Dr. Grant and Ellie Sattler, scientists, visit Jurassic Park. With them are fellow scientists, engineers, and the old eccentric who created the park, John Hammond. When a planned power-outage goes wrong during the visit, tourists are trapped in the middle of the park with the dinosaurs, and the rest at the Visitor's Center are practically in a beseiged fortress. Like most great authors, whether Crichton intended it or not, his morals got into the book. All of the "villains" of the book die because of their sins, or rather, the people who created the park die, and Ian Malcolm, who spends much of the book half-dead, preaches to the others about what did go wrong and what is wrong with the world and what should be done about it, naturally with the "correct" solutions. I did agree with them, but it was the author's opinion. And at the hands of these scientists and engineers who created the park, several others meet a horrible fate. The ending wasn't meant to be cheerful, but this book left me with more than a visit to an already fascinating island of horror and fantasy. Michael Crichton really outdid himself when he wrote this book, and I have yet to meet someone who didn't like it.

Book Review: Great book
Summary: 5 Stars

I am reading this book for a high school independant reading asignment. Yes, i have seen the movie and i thought it was a good but after reading the book i have a whole new view of it. I picked up this book thinking thinking it would be just like the movie and i could blow through it, but as i began to read I became sucked into the fictional world of "Jurassic Park". The book starts out setting up readers with some interesting scences that imediatly draw your attention. As the book continues to unfold one cannot help themselves but to not put down the book. The creativity that was put into the book was just great. I thought all the scientific reasonings behind the recreation of the Dinosaurs was brilliant. I also thought the plot behind the book was well thought out and nicely set up by Crichton. The story truely begins to unfold when a group of people including a lawyer, Mathmatician, and Archeologist discover that these dinosaurs (which were never meant to be able to breed) have somehow began to breed themselves on the island without anyone even knowing. With that being one of the many twist and turns throughout this book I just couldnt put down this book and i enjoyed every single minute that i spent reading this book. With that being said I would highly recommend this book to anyone, I know lots of people probably see this book and just think, "oh ive seen the movie im not going to read that" well thats what i thought to, but after reading it i'm happy to say that i'm glad with my choice. 5 stars, two thumbs up

Book Review: My English Novel
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm in 9th grade and I had to read a novel for my English class. My teacher said to pick a book I haven't read before, so I looked and found "Jurassic Park." I noticed that it was by Michael Crichton, my brother always talks about him, so I decided to read it.

When I read the first couple of pages I noticed that Crichton puts a lot of time in describing his characters. Though I usually don't like long descriptive books this seemed to be all right so I kept reading it. I got interested when little chicken sized dinosaurs attack a family, because Michael Crichton described how the dinosaurs crawled up the arms of the family and started to pick at there faces, it was pretty gruesome.

The book it self is about an old man named John Hammond, that tries to create a park of cloned dinosaurs. He gets the DNA from Mosquitoes that are fossilized in amber. Before he opens the park he invites a group of people to tour the park. The group includes a paleontologist, a mathematician, a lawyer, and Hammond's two grand children. When the group is on the tour the power goes out causing the dinosaurs to escape and roam freely. Now the group has to get back to the main complex and call for help.

When the book was over I was surprised that I liked it. Now I am reading Michael Crichtons sequel to "Jurassic Park," it is called "The Lost World." It has some of the characters from the first book. But since I read "Jurassic Park" I haven't been able to set Michael Crichtons books down since.
