Book Review: The Betrayal of a Legend...

I was browsing around Half Price books today, and i was orginally tryin to find a CD, but when i couldnt find one i wanted, i was on my way out the door when i glanced out of the corner of my eye and saw "Journals" sitting on top of a table on display for 9.99. At first i felt intrigued, so i picked it up and began thumbing through it, thats when the stomach ache began. I could not believe that something of this nature was published. These are photo copied pages of the late great Kurt Cobain's PERSONAL journal. Now, if you are a true fan of Nirvana, or Kurt...then YOU KNOW that it is wrong to read this material. Even though, we do not know what happends in the after-life, and we dont know if Kurt is truly at peace and has reached complete well...Nirvana.
If so, i dont think he would mind if you read this...but the Kur"D"t Cobain we all know, would have NEVER, NEVER, NEVER have let this material be published, and if he is the same man in spirt form as he was on Earth, to read this book is to go against everything he ever stood for,
I actually bought this book. and i have thumbed through it only a couple of times, and i apoligize for my own curiosity.
Another reason i bought this book, was simply to get it off the shelf and shelter it from every person who walked into the store, and picked it up for a quick look.
I have been a Nirvana fan since day 1, and i may thumb through this book from time to time, but i will never exploit this and show it to people like a new shirt, and i will not be reading this from front to back.
I myself am a musician, and i have notebooks along the same lines as this, i will have lyrics written on one page and a grocery list on another, and a list of bills i have to pay on another, and notes to my girlfriend to call me at work, while she reminds me to take out the trash.
I WOULD NOT WANT MY NOTEBOOKS PUBLISHED FOR PEOPLES AMUSEMENT,
and with the band im in, we ARE tryin to be famous, and in the spotlight, Kurt Did Not.
Once again, for this to be published is to go against everything Kurt Cobain stood for.
If you buy this book, take care of it, and keep in mind everything i just wrote. Dont buy it cause you think its "COOL"
Buy it for the right reasons.
