Book Review: Cover Frightens Daughter
Summary: 3 Stars
The inside illustrations are very nice, but the story is only fine--nothing amazing. The illustrations would benefit from a larger format. It's difficult to make out the detail and get absorbed in all that's going on in the illustrations. The cover, oddly, makes my 13 month old daughter cry when she looks at it. We had to put tape over Santa's face because whenever she pulled this book off the shelf she'd break out into tears. The inside illustrations do not bother her. I probably just have a sensitive daughter, but even if the cover didn't make her cry, I would not purchase the book new. I'd look for it at a garage sale or thrift store.
