Book Reviews of Jiu-Jitsu UniversityBook Review: Best of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu books Summary: 5 Stars
Not taking anything away from all the other books out there, but this isn't a typical Jits instruction book. This is really like a manual or university text book! Well organized, logical progression and really covers well what is in my opinion the most valuable aspects of the art...Survival and Escape. It continues on by covering multiple guards in a no nosense do what works way. Then into passing the various guards and finally submissions. What an excellent book, thank you.
Book Review: This book is a must have for your collection. Summary: 5 Stars
I've bought Jiu Jitsu books for years now so I have a good idea what's good and what's not. I've become somewhat of a collector now. This book goes beyond just showing you moves. It serves as a course to follow in your development. I totally agree with Saulo's assertions on the development path one should take as they go from white to black belt and I'm sure you will to. There is good reason for this book being highly recommended in general among the jiu jitsu community.
Book Review: The best you will find. Summary: 5 Stars
This book is by far one of the best Brazilian Jiu Jitsu texts ever created. After reading only the first section my Jiu Jitsu improved ten fold. Saulo Ribeiro structured this book so perfectly, that it will help anyone who reads it. Saulo's application to the importance of Jiu Jitsu technique is amazing, and unmatched. This book really teaches the Jiu Jitsu the way everyone should learn it. From a true master with a incredible understanding, and passion for his Art.
Book Review: Pure Class Summary: 5 Stars
Knowing Saulo, I would not expect anything but class from his first effort in sharing his passion through a book. I consider this book (and I have many) by far the most comprehensive and detailed book in the market today, along with Renzo and Royler's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, they are the starting point for any BJJ enthusiast (or like me a total beginner in this great art), this is the obvious result of great effort and unmeasurable time put forth this release.
Book Review: Great book for all levels Summary: 5 Stars
Saulo goes over the basics and does so in detail. Most books and videos on BJJ show moves and move on to the next phase but Saulo's book shows the move, what you need to remember when doing it,what might go wrong and how to fix it. While it doesn't have a ton of submissions compared to some other books, its sweeps and defensive segments are the best of any BJJ book I've seen. If I ran a BJJ school, I'd tell every new person to go out and buy this book.
