Szwed's listening examples are easy to find on Itunes (or Amazon). As a complete novice I'm finding his description, i.e., what to listen for, extremely valuable. With the money I'm saving going to class to learn about the history of Jazz I'm putting together a delightful play list based on Szwed's recommendations, and finding directions to go in the genre without becoming overwelmed.
