Book Reviews of JOY OF COOKING

Book Review: The Joy of Cooking is a Joy.
Summary: 5 Stars

The joy of cooking is a great cookbook. I have my own copy which I have had for years. I recently puchased a copy for a friend that didn't have any cookbooks. It not only has great recipies, it has explanations and descriptions of foods, spices and a whole lot of everything a new cook needs. Over all it is a book a newer cook, and even an experienced cook should have, for it truly makes cooking a joy.

Book Review: Best Cook Book Ever
Summary: 5 Stars

If you want a cook book that tells you how to cook every American dish available, this is your book. I am a fairly good cook and these days use the internet to get recipes, but I keep coming back to Joy.

If you only want one cook book this is the one to own.

I had an older copy I bought in the 70s. I wore it out and now have a second one. Best value for the $ available.

Book Review: Very Kind Vendor
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the " classic " your Mom and your Grandmother had always on the kitchen counter. My copy, hard to find,
is in pieces from my use as well, so I am anxiously awaiting this to finally arrive stuck somewhere in the Italian Christmas mail. No problem as I still have my other in taped pages, but in asking about the whereabouts of my new copy, the vendor has been terrific !! garner tullis

Book Review: A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Joy of Cooking has proved its excellent and has been one of the most successful book more than 75yrs. You would get the best impression from just reading the Foreword. Theres loads of Menus and you can plan your dinner or lunch with just this book for the rest of your life. I'm now working on a career change and I'm glad i bought this book. I cant wait to start trying the recipes in this book!

Book Review: A Family Heirloom
Summary: 5 Stars

I stole my mother's early 60's edition (or was it 50's?) and then bought a newer copy for my son. He has requested that he gets mine when I pass on. I have dragged this book around for over twenty years and several states. It is a great reference tool - substitutions, freezing veggies from the garden, cuts of meat, ect.

My two favorite recipes: egg nog and pancakes.
