Book Review: A paradigm shift

As architects begin to respond to the new opportunities that technology brings, and pressures being put on by people like GSA, the need to protect the creative side of the profession increases. The authors of this book begin with a discussion about the work of Brunelleschi and move from there to the potential that BIM brings to recapture what the Master Builder concept allowed us to do.
BIM promises us the opportunity to design and truly model and TEST our buildings before we are expected to design and construct what is basically a one off prototype that is perfect. This book is an excellent introduction to this promise. It is documented with excellent design examples to which an architect will relate.
