Book Reviews of Into the Fire (Troubleshooters, Book 13)Book Review: Why I Love Dave! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to start my review off by saying that I am so happy that Suzanne has taken Dave out of the shadow and brought him to the front burner. It was something about this mystery man that made me fall in love with him. He's so real. It was as if, I could have taken him out of the book and hold - feel how real he is. Dave truly believes in the word team and no matter how some of his teammates looks at him or treat him, he have their back.
S P O I L E R W A R N I N G!
Dave have been secretly getting back into shape. Yes, he was getting that sexy body back! I guess the family emergency that Dave had to go see about in All Through The Night was his cousin. He did say that one of his cousin had a heart attack and that's why he started getting back into shape, right?
I believe that a part of the reason why Dave was getting back into shape was because he wanted to be recognized. Yes, Dave wasn't the type that really cared what people thought about him. But, come on, no one would invite him to go to places? Was it because they didn't think he had the looks? Dave knows how to impress, but he didn't have to impress to fit in. It is sad that Dave was looked at as being freaky and geeky.
Hello! Under that so called freaky and geeky person lied a very sexy, attractive man. Tracy found him to be attractive. Not only did she found him to be attractive, Eden did too and Dr. Jo found him to have pretty eyes (I think I am saying that right or was that beautiful eyes?)
Not only did the other men knew how to wear jeans, Dave did as well.
I am sure that Sophia have secretly found Dave attractive, after noticing the new Dave. I wonder if any of Dave's fan noticed how Sophia compared herself to Paulette. She stated that Paulette looked like Tracy, compare to her pale self. Why would Sophia compare herself to Paulette, if she didn't have her eyes on Dave?
Call Dr. Dave....Call Dr. Dave (More like it Dr. Malkoff!). I wonder what kind of Doctor Dave is. I will have to say a psychologist. Dave made it his business to let Dr. Jo know that she will call him a Dr. Only a doctor would want to be called a doctor by another doctor. So, Dave has to be a Dr. in something. Psychologists deal with the mind. If you notice Dave gets into people's head. How sexy, he's a doctor!
Dave totally rocked on this mission. What would Decker have done without Dave? I have to say I like how Dave stood bold in this story. I love the way he handled Nash. Helping the man with his wound, even though he knew that Nash didn't care about him. They weren't really friends.
Nash knows that Dave is in love with Sophia; that's why he whispered what he did in Dave's ear, concerning Sophia. Boy, oh Boy, will he need Dave's help in the next book.
Getting back to the mission. Decker needed Dave. That was the hero all around in this book. He help rescue Decker out of the darkness. He even helped Murphy. A person that referred to him as being crazy too.
Dave deserves to be happy. He was treated unfair by the evil woman he took his virginity and tried to have him killed. Poor man, no wonder he would stay to himself. Some people actually think he killed the woman. Sophia better not hurt Dave.
I think that they make a cute couple. Dave is the perfect man for her. He's already her best friend and that's what couple needs in a relationship to be each other's best friend. What would Sophia really do without Dave? He world would come crashing down, if Dave was to not be in it anymore. Say, Suzanne decides she wants to hook Sophia up with Decker. Dave might leave Sophia's life, because why stay and live in the hurt daily. When will the pain ends? If Suzanne decides to let Sophia be with Decker, she should have Dave moved to the Florida office. Don't let Dave suffer anymore. He shares an office with Sophia, well their office is separated by a door.
I can't see no other woman with Dave, besides Sophia. She kissed Dave. Something, I truly believe that she wanted to do for a long time. When they were in the cave in Into The Storm, she felt something sexual towards Dave. But, she freaked, because she was having this feeling for her best friend.
I can go on and on about Dave. I know that all of Dave's fan will be pleased with this book, regardless if they don't want him with Sophia. It's knowing that he is a leader in this book, although he never wanted to be a leader. He has done an excellent job.
Summary of Into the Fire (Troubleshooters, Book 13)Suspense doesn?t burn any brighter and desire doesn?t run any deeper than when Suzanne Brockmann takes the helm, opens the throttle, and takes readers along for a breathless ride as she breaks the thrill barrier?again and again. With Into the Fire, Brockmann lights the fuse on her most explosive story yet.
Vinh Murphy?ex-Marine and onetime operative for the elite security firm Troubleshooters Incorporated?has been MIA ever since his wife, Angelina, was caught in a crossfire and killed during what should have been a routine bodyguard assignment. Overcome with grief, Murphy blames the neo-Nazi group known as the Freedom Network for her death. Now, years later, Freedom Network leader Tim Ebersole has been murdered?and the FBI suspects Murphy may have pulled the trigger. To prevent further bloodshed, Murphy?s friends at Troubleshooters scramble to find him and convince him to surrender peacefully.
Murphy himself can?t be sure what he did or didn?t do during the years he spent mourning and lost in an alcohol-induced fog. He does know he occasionally sought solace from Hannah Whitfield, a former police officer and the very friend who?d introduced him to his beloved late wife.
But Hannah, still grappling with the deafness that resulted from an injury sustained while on duty, was fighting her own battles. For years Hannah had feelings for Murphy, and one painful night their suffering brought them together in a way neither expected?and both regretted.
Murphy is ready to rejoin the living. As always, he finds himself knocking on Hannah?s door, and as always, his longtime friend welcomes him back into her home. Yet even as Murphy slowly rebuilds his splintered life, he continues to fight his growing feelings for Hannah.
Then he learns of Ebersole?s murder and comes to believe that the Freedom Network has targeted him?and Hannah?to avenge their leader?s death to violence. Now Murphy must face the terrifying prospect of losing another woman he loves.
As the Troubleshooters desperately search for him, Murphy races toward a deadly confrontation with the Freedom Network and ultimate choice: surrender his life in hopes that Hannah will be spared, or risk everything to salvage whatever future they may have together.
