Book Reviews of Inkspell (Inkheart Trilogy)Book Review: Better than the first--and I loved that one Summary: 5 Stars
This is one of those incidents where the sequel is as good if not better than the original. I loved "Inkheart", but I must say I would pick this if forced to choose. Cornelia Funke has taken her clever concept of super reading aloud to an entirely new level as she actually lets us explore the world of the infamous Inkheart.
While the original book had a clever, interesting concept, this is more along the lines of classic fantasy adventure... and I love it all the more for it. The Inkworld is as good a fantasy land as one could ask for, which all the imaginative wonders and dangers.
The plot, as fun and interesting as it is, however, stands second to the character development here. I liked everyone in the first book--I loved them here.
This is a spectacular sequel in every sense of the word.
Book Review: Amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I loved Inkspell - Absolutely loved it. It was in the series of books that first inspired me to write. The plot was just entrancing... who else ever thought of being able to read yourself into a book? Certainly many people wished they could, but I don't know of anyone else who has written about it. Finding a series such as this is a rare blessing. I loved Ombra, the Wayless Woods, and even the Castle of Night and the villain. The characters... how can you describe them? They're just so memorable. I loved Dustfinger, Mo, Meggy, Farid, Fenoglio, etc all.
I can't decide whether I liked Inkspell or Inkheart better. Both had their strong points. And both were simply enchanting.
Book Review: As Good as INKHEART Summary: 5 Stars
In this very nice addition to the first book, INKHEART, all your favorite characters return but instead of coming out of the books, they're going in! This time, Meggie, Mo, Farid, Dustfinger, and Gwin are pulled into the mysterious book INKHEART, a medieval land filled with thieves, horrible creatures, tyrant rulers, and robbers. Still sought after for their talents and stuck in the world of INKHEART, Mo and Meggie search for the author of the perilous book (who previously was read into the book accidentally) who could write them out of the book forever. This book, as compelling and jaw dropping as the last had me laughing, sweating, screaming, and crying the whole way through!
Book Review: Cornelia Funke has done it again By: "The Fonz" Summary: 5 Stars
I agree with M. Roeder in saying that Inkspell has developed characters deeper. Inkspell allows you to enter the world that in the previous book was thought to be never accessible, a world of fantasy elves, fairys, and MUCH MUCH more!!!. Meggie has finally done it and read herself into a book. She is followed too getting all of the old gang into this Inkland of magic, mystery, and tragedy. Inkspell has done nothing but solidify the fame of Inkheart by allowing the characters to make more issues and conflicts. If you loved Inkheart and could not stop dreaming of the magic world so vividly descrbied in the first book then pick up this book immediatley. Hope i was helpful "The Fonz"
Book Review: She did it AGAIN! Summary: 5 Stars
Cornelia Funke did it again! Inkspell is a wonderful addition to the Ink series. I believe I will be saddened when it is over. Mo and Meggie embark on more adventures together and keep us glued to their travels. It was great to catch up with Dustfinger and Farid in the Ink world. This novel takes you into the Ink world where so much of the bad came from in Inkheart. As you come to see what a beautiful world Fenoglio created you are drawn into the magic of how Resa, Dustfinger and Fenoglio desire to be in this mystical world. Again for those with students needing AR points here it is. A book parents can enjoy their students reading and racking up those points! Enjoy!
