Book Reviews of Inkdeath (Inkheart Trilogy)Book Review: GREAT BOOK!!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Inkdeath is a fabulous conclusion to the Inkheart book series. It follows the adventures of a father and daughter with the gift to allow characters to come in and out of books and their wife/mother. The Folchart's world is set in 21st century England. There are many descriptions of the Inkworld, so it is easy to picture what it looks like. I picture it like medieval England, although it isn't. Cornelia Funke described the character's emotions so well that I could feel what they were feeling. For example, when Mo got trapped in Ombra castle, I felt that same worry that Meggie and Resa had. I thought he might never come out! People who loved Inkheart and/or Inkspell would definitely love Inkdeath. Like the other two, it lets you escape from the real world to the one of fantasy. All in all, Inkdeath is a captivating book. It has ups and downs and twists and turns. It is like a short roller coaster that you never want to stop riding. There were no faults that I could find with it. I want to read it again someday!
Book Review: loved it! Summary: 5 Stars
After eagerly awaiting this books arrival, Firstly, I finished this book in 3 days! I was not dissapointed! and without giving away spoilers (like some other reviewers did), let me just say...
Like the previous books, this one sucked you right back in - wondering the fates of your favourite characters, and at certain points there were sooo many bad things happening all at once that you just couldn't help but worry how or if your characters were going to emerge alive!
I simply adored this book and was perfectly happy with all the different twists and turns in the book - a few predictable, but most were totally unforseen (at least to me anyway). And what I loved most, was the fact that at the end it hinted at the possibility of yet another book or maybe even trilogoy...
Great Read, and I would highly reccomend it!
Book Review: A Fine Ending to a Wonderous Trilogy Summary: 5 Stars
Inkdeath was a tremendous ending to one of the most original trilogies in children's liturature. This is not really a tale of magic, but rather a tale of the love of liturature and of words. In Inkheart, the tale was all about the magic of a great story, and how hypnotic a great story teller can be. Inkspell deals with the magic of getting lost in a great book (literally.) Inkdeath is about the power of words by themselves, how words can change and control us. The great duel is not one of swords or knights, but of writers trying to out write and out wit each other.
In Inkdeath you will find fairies are blue, people can talk to fire, and great writers only need great readers to bring their tales to life. There is a danger however, Funk's writing is magical enough you may just find yourself lost in a new world.......
Book Review: Wonderful ending to a wonderful trilogy! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this book for Christmas and just started reading it yesterday, and I finished it this afternoon! I could not put it down. The book is wonderfully well-written and I couldn't have asked for a better ending.
The beginning of the book starts off a bit slow, and luckily there is an "A to Z of Inkheart" in the back to remind you of who all the characters are (since it does get a little confusing), but even considering this the story captivated me just as it did in Inkheart and Inkspell. Funke has written an exciting conclusion to this series.
I don't know about you, but I like to get lost in the books I read, and these books definitely did that for me. Funke's writing captures the heart and keeps you on the edge of your seat all the way to the end. Great writing, and highly recommended!
Book Review: A wonderful ending to the Inkheart trilogy - for both kids and adults Summary: 5 Stars
Having read Inkheart, Inkspell, and now Inkdeath, I can say with absolute certainty that Cornelia Funke is a wonderful author.
Inkdeath is the conclusion to the Inkheart trilogy and well worth the wait.
It wraps up the story line in an interesting and action packed manner and was truly a joy to read.
My 10 year old daughter is currently reading Inkheart - the first book in the trilogy - and is totally entranced. I can't wait to see what she thinks of the remaining two novels.
I don't want to mention exactly what happens in the book as it would take too much away from the enjoyment of actually reading it but suffice it to say that it is great for both children and adults.
I'm a 36 year old dad and I highly recommend this book and this trilogy.
