Book Reviews of Incredible Hulk: Planet HulkBook Review: All I want to do is SMASH!!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I want to start out by saying that when I picked this up, I wasn't a Hulk fan at all. I am now. What an awesome concept and what great characters were introduced to us here in Planet Hulk! The Hulk a gladiator: Brilliant! The Hulk a resistance fighter: Brilliant! The Hulk a King: Brilliant! The Hulk getting ready to head back to Earth to bring the pain to Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Steve Strange, and Blackbolt (with friends!): Brilliant! I can't wait to see what happens in World War Hulk. By the way, I want to thank writer Greg Pak for the inclusion of one of the Brood in the Warbound. They have always been one of my favorite species. Keep up the great work here. Peace and Love, Jake
Book Review: In Tradition of The Incredible Hulk Summary: 5 Stars
In tradition of the Incredible Hulk, Planet Hulk is a story of the Hulk's pure rage continuing into World War Hulk (Another great story). This book was hard to put down and difficult for me to explain my absense for the 24 hour period I read it from front to back. We find out the breaking point of Bruce Banner/The Hulk and how hard it is to come back from the anger within after being betrayed by S.H.I.E.L.D/Illuminati. Hulk goes from nothing, to slave, to gladiator, to king, to being royaly angered and betrayed as the planet he has conquered is destroyed. This is one of the best storylines the hulk has ever seen. It's great and just down right fun from beginning to end.
Book Review: The best Hulk story I ever read Summary: 5 Stars
I've never liked the Hulk. I grew up with the mediocre TV show and dumb Hulk comics where the character came off as a lovable and destructive imbecile.
But this is a totally different Hulk. And a totally different Hulk story. Greg Pak took Hulk out of his element and sent him off planet. It's a totally different Hulk trapped in a world rich with violence, danger and a fascinating supporting cast.
The writing is smart with well-developed, exciting characters (including the Hulk) and beautiful art and color. This book is a great example of how good comics can be and the hardcover is full of extras including background on the planet and characters.
Book Review: Hell Yeah! Summary: 5 Stars
This story was freakin great! This is the single best story for the Hulk I've ever read. The artwork was amazing as well. This story reignited my fervor for Hulk appreciation. Greg Pak took me back to the days of Peter David's era on hulk with amazing character development and depth. The idea of the Hulk being a gladiatorial barbarian just seems very natural and is extremely pleasant to see unfold. This is my favorite comic story ever, so I highly recommend this anyone who is a fan of the Hulk or just wants an interesting story to dive into.
Book Review: Best Hulk Story line in years Summary: 5 Stars
Incredible Hulk: Planet Hulk
I purchased this book due to hearing a lot of praise for this storyline. This book did not disappoint. Easily one of the best Hulk stories that I have ever read. I recommend this for anyone who was ever a fan of the Incredible Hulk. The movies and a lot of the comics do not provide a good "feel" of the character. This book does that, and provides plenty of action.
