Book Reviews of . . . If You Sailed on the Mayflower in 1620Book Review: Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this book for my Grandchildren but this is not only a great book for 4-8 year olds but for anyone over 4. You might learn some things you didn't know. By the way, if you ever go to Plymouth you can go on the Mayflower II, and be sure to visit Plimoth Plantation (it's like going back in time to 1630).
Book Review: a bit wordy Summary: 5 Stars
This book would be a really good book if you were doing a month long study on the subject or home-schooling elementary kids but not a good book to read to a classroom in one afternoon, especially not Kindergarteners. :) It needs to be broken into many mini discussions or readings.
Book Review: Just Like You Were There!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This book by Ann McGovern depicts the life that you would have had on the Mayflower. You get a sense and almost feel like you are there with the rest of the pilgrims in 1620. The detail is just great and is a book that all kids should read from a historical standpoint.
Book Review: great book Summary: 5 Stars
My 6 year old has lots of questions and after exhausting my knowledge, I wanted a book that went beyond the very basics. This books is great. It covers all the details I needed for my junior history scholar in a fun, interesting way.
Book Review: Lots of good information. Summary: 4 Stars
We are using the book Social Studies Through Children's Literature by Anthony D. Fredericks and he recommends this book for grades K-3rd. It was interesting and while we did know quite a lot of the information from previous studies we still learned a lot. It is all in question and answer format and not only about the Mayflower but also about life in one of the 1st colonies. I would recommend it for grades 2-4th.
