Book Reviews of I Walked the Line: My Life with JohnnyBook Review: Very Touching Summary: 5 Stars
I found this book to be a very poignant telling of a remarkable love story. It is obvious from Johnny's letters to Vivian that he was deeply in love with her and she with him. Unfortunately, like all things, situations change. It is a tale of a story of love, hope, and faith. After Johnny's addiction to pills, it became a story of deceit, dishonesty, and unfaithfulness. I'm sure it was a very painful for Vivian to tell her story. I was in tears by the end of the book. I am thankful that she found the healing and the peace she obtained by writing it.
Book Review: I walked the Line as a totally classy lady Summary: 5 Stars
My heart ached for Vivian Cash because she never got to see her story as public knowledge. Obviously, it was enough for her to know that she maintained her "class" in spite of what others thought they knew about her. Too bad Johnny was unable to protect the ones who placed their trust in him. Too bad he was so easily led away from his wife and girls.
But, that is what makes a biography or auto-biography so interesting.
The writing was so well done and compelling that I could barely put it down until I finished reading it.
Book Review: Love Endures All Things Summary: 5 Stars
Vivian Cash unselfishly shares the love letters her young boyfriend, Johnny Cash, wrote during his military days in Europe during the 1950's. The letters are beautiful- sweet, sensitive, and loving. The letters also show the struggle of a young man trying to be true to his girlfriend and himself. The book begins as a beautiful fairytale, but as drugs enter the picture the tale becomes twisted. Vivian Cash tells of the pain and suffering she endured as the first wife of "Johnny Cash" and how she Walked the Line.
Book Review: What a wonderful lady Vivian was! Summary: 5 Stars
I've read this book twice and was touched both times by the love Johnny Cash expressed for Vivian. What a lady to hold her head high, raise her children despite the enormous heatbreak she experienced. Its amazing that people can't seem to get past the Johnny and June story long enough to realize he already had a "true love" , children and marriage. I don't see how anyone could ever condemn Vivian. My heart broke for her throughout the book. She's in heaven now and God bless her family.

I Walked the Line: My Life with Johnny
Been a Johnny Cash fan forever, yet never realized he was married to another woman prior to June. This book gave me a whole new insight into a major country music icon, and a whole new opinion of June.
