Book Review: A Tear-Jerking Gem!
Summary: 5 Stars
My mother bought this book for me while I was still pregnant with my daughter. My eyes filled with tears as I read this book and felt the love that it portrayed. After my daughter was born I could never get through this book without getting just a little choked up. I never knew before the love I could feel for anyone until I became a mother, and this book tells a story of just this kind of love beautifully!
In addition to how much I love the book, my daughter loves it too. From birth and still at 16 months old, this is one of her favorites. It seems because of the amount of words, that a small toddler would not sit through such a book, but my daughter does. She clearly loves the illustrations (I do too!) and she loves the repetition of the word "Momma." She can anticipate when I am going to read, "But, Momma, but Momma..." This also is a book that is easily read with much expression. One of my favorite parts of the book is when the child asks would she still love him if he were "a terrible meat-eating dinosaur!" This happens to be perfect for us, because we do not eat meat!
This book will be on our shelves until the end of time.
