Book Reviews of I Love You Like Crazy CakesBook Review: A charming and meaningful children's book Summary: 5 Stars
This book tells the story, in sweet prose and art, of a mother and child brought together from opposite corners of the world. It is a worthwhile purchase for any parent of a young child, not just adoptive parents with children from China. Adults interested in this topic would do well to read Karin Evans' book, The Lost Daughters of China, which is linked to this book below.
Book Review: Must have if adopting from China Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book, along with several others, immediately after we received our referral. Of all the books, this one touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. It speaks of how I feel in my heart. I don't know how our daughter will react to this book when she's old enough to comprehend what we're reading to her - but I know that I am thrilled to have this book.
Book Review: for all mothers and daughters Summary: 5 Stars
As a grandmother ( and not of adopted children,) I had to buy many copies of this charming and moving book. It should make all of us realize the gift of a child. I have bought it for several and recommended it to many. I too wept for the mother who gave up her baby as I celebrated the tender love of the mother who found her. Thanks to the author for a moving story.
Book Review: I Love You Like Crazy Cakes Summary: 5 Stars
We've told my 3-year-old daughter her adoption story several times, but it has never been as clear to her as when we read her this book. Even though she is adopted from Russia, the process and sentiments translated perfectly. She now begs to hear this book before bed, then asks me to tell her about her own adoption story. We are so happy to have this book!
Book Review: My daughter's favorite book! Summary: 5 Stars
I adopted my daughter from China in 2001 and this has been her favorite book from the beginning. She sees the woman in the book as me and the baby in the book as her. In her mind the book was written for us, about us. It tells the story of her adoption in simple language terms that she can understand. It has always been my favorite too.
