Since 1995, Jhonen Vasquez has brought us the story of a psychotic killer trying to find himself in the world, a scared little boy who nobody loves, a megliomaniacal space alien who can't take over the world, and a struggling artist trying to keep her sanity.
Pieces of a story that have finally come to a conclusion.
When I Feel Sick #1 was released, it was 1999. Vasquez just got a job working with Nickelodeon Animation Studios along with fell Slave Labor Graphics friends, and then some, including Rikki Simons (Invader Zim colorist and voice of GIR) who colors the illustrations in this story about Devi (a.k.a. The One That Got Away).
IFS #2 was released in 2002. Around this time, Invader Zim was cancelled partially due to the events going on in the world at that time, but 100% the fault of the network executives at Nickelodeon as they attempt to turn television into crap. (I'll probably talk about that in my review of Invader Zim.)
Devi is injured in this final episode. Here we learn about what she thinks of her boss (through which what Vasquez thinks of the people at Nickelodeon), what happened to her ex-boyfriend, and what might be happening to her. The future is up for Devi to decide.
