Book Review: No Bah Humbug
Summary: 4 Stars
Not exactly what I expected, but I'm not disappointed. It had all the rich satiric cartooning with 'eyeball kicks" that the original Mad comic had. Several different artists than in original Mad, Arnold Roth and Al Jafee, which gave a new look to the collection. The interviews with these artists gave a fascinating look behind the covers. My only mild annoyance is that there is more prose than I like in a comic;this is a minor point, though.

Summary of Humbug (2 Volume Set)
Harvey Kurtzman changed the face of American humor when he created the legendary MAD comic. As editor and chief writer from its inception in 1952, through its transformation into a slick magazine, and until he left MAD in 1956, he influenced an entire generation of cartoonists, comedians, and filmmakers. In 1962, he co-created the long-running Little Annie Fanny with his long-time artistic partner Will Elder for Playboy, which he continued to produce until his virtual retirement in 1988.General Books
