Book Review: my 7 year old loves this book -- he asked me to do this review

My son was with my on the computer when I first ordered this book for him. We read the reviews and seeing some of the negative comments, I warned him the book might not be a good choice and might be difficult. He convinced me to give it a try. I am glad I did. He loves this book. Granted, he really likes the draw so doesn't mind taking his time when he does art. He has drawn several of the Pokemons in the book and hasn't had any problems with the level of difficulty. I think it is good for his age. This is our first "learn to draw" book because when he was 6 and younger he drew on his own and rather than color in pages already created we did a lot of "anti-coloring book books" (there are many on Amazon; check them out). I am at Amazon again today to buy a few more books similar to this one for an upcoming vacation. My son also suggested I write a review about how he really enjoyed the book.Book Review: Excellent for young and old!

I bought this for my daughter who loves pokemon and has a bit of a hand coordination problem which she receives occupational therapy for. She can type faster than most humans I know, but drawing is a problem and so is lining up columns like rows of numbers. This book is perfect for her. It offers simply step-by-step instructions on how to create each character and involves nothing but simple line drawings, but forces concentration and improves eye-hand coordination.
Of course, the other benifit of this book is that you can use it to draw pokemon characters to make craft items for a child you love or make a custom made greeting card. This book isn't expensive and worth every penny. If you have a pokemon fan in your mist, this is a nice book that will encourage creativity and time away from the Nintendo!

I bought this 'scholastic" book. my daughter loves to draw and has talent at drawing. AND she loves pokemon! the book is thin, more like a magazine! 32 pages. THEY are 18 pokemon in it that u can learn to draw. AND also, if you would like, it kind of doubles as a coloring book. the way they are drawn in the book, u could also color them...because the paper is like coloring book paper in it the book also. i hope this helps

Book Review: Awesome gift for the 7-12 year old Pokemon fan in your life!

I have purchased at least 5 of these books and have given them as gifts to my children and their friends (ages 7-11). The instructions are easy to follow, the drawings are very authentic and kids love that they can draw some of their favorite characters. The ONLY down side, is that I wish it had a greater number of characters to draw. However, IMO it was a real steal for less than $5. All the children we've purchased these for have loved them. I keep an extra one just in case I've forgotten a birthday. You might want to buy an extra one too!Book Review: Gameboy Alternative

My 5 year old loves this book. If he had his way, he would play Pokemon all day every day on his game boy. This is a nice alternative that taps his imagination and creativity. He also tries to get others to draw with him so they have a group activity that is relatively quiet, until they start describing the battles. I highly recommend for any child who already loves other Pokemon activities.
