Book Review: Great Book if You Like Pictures of Big Trout

The pictures are the best part of this book. This is a great book to inspire someone to go fly fishing. If you are an experienced fly fisherman you might be disapointed if you buy this book to increase your knowledge of fly fishing. You probably already use many of the fly fishing methods discussed. Landon uses simple stratagies that produces great results. You will learn out all about the number of big fish Landon has caught and you will see all the pictures to prove it. What you will read about fishing for big trout is straight forward and simple. From reading the book I discovered that the 'secret' is to spend time scouting until you spot/target a big trout. Once you can spot a big trout, you can catch it with one of the various favorite flies that Landon recommends (there isn't much information about how to fish the flies - just a list of foods that the big fish eat). You also learn that finding big trout is easier when they are moving. And, you should fish at the depth where the big trout are feeding, use polarized glasses, wear a hat, and carry a big net... (all good, well known, stratigies). What I personally found most helpful in the book are Landon's observations and hints that help him spot trout... This is a very intertaining book with lots of success stories. I would recommend "How to Catch the Biggest Trout of Your Life" to anyone new to fly fishing.
