Book Reviews of How to Boil WaterBook Review: Great for the Novice Adult Cook Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my cooking-challenged boyfriend, who complained I never let him help out in the kitchen. He really likes this cookbook! It's written in a straightforward, simple manner that doesn't make him feel "dumb" or overwhelmed by unfamiliar terms. The layout is colorful and engaging, and the tips and "upgrades" are actually helpful. He's excited about cooking and I'm REALLY excited to have him cook for me.
Book Review: a dummy's cookbook for smart people Summary: 5 Stars
This book is incredibly informative. It's everything I wanted to learn about food, but was too lazy to ask -- where it comes from, what to look for when buying it, how to cut it all up... and that's aside from the great recipes. This mass of info is fortunately so intelligently written and laid out that it never really feels like overload. I'd put the book on my coffee table if I didn't need it so much in the kitchen.
Book Review: informative read Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased 2 copies of How to Boil Water to give as a gift to my college age children. I am keeping one for myself until I have finished reading it and copying several of the recipes. It's packed with interesting tid bits of information that I never knew. It's a hard back copy with a cool cover and great pictures inside. I would recommend this book as a graduation, wedding, or moving out gift.
Book Review: Outstanding cookbook Summary: 5 Stars
This was purchased as a gift for my post-college niece who had requested a cookbook for someone who was cooking-challenged. This book fit the bill! Everything about this cookbook was done well, especially the pictures and instructions. Nice hardback cover and quality paper was used. I wouldn't mind having one for myself (and I've been cooking for over 40 years)
Book Review: Great for beginners or experienced cooks Summary: 5 Stars
This a great cook book for both beginners and those experienced in the kitchen. The book is split up by meals (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, desserts) with easy, but tasty recipes. There are colorful photos of many of the dishes, plus a how-to section for any type of prep work described in the recipes. I'd highly recommend this, especially for new cooks.
