Book Reviews of How I Play GolfBook Review: TIGER IS EVERYONE'S HERO Summary: 5 Stars
I'm a mystery novelist who lives in Palm Desert, the golf capital of the world. Every few months, Tiger Woods visits our community to compete in professional events. Most people I know golf, and Tiger Woods is everyone's hero. In HOW I PLAY GOLF, Tiger provides the tips one would expect in such a book. As a bonus, there is some remarkable photography of this remarkable man playing this remarkable sport. Most significantly to me is Tiger's expressions in HOW I PLAY GOLF of his love and respect for his sport. If this young man doesn't stop generating excitement for golf, it will soon be impossible for ordinary duffers to get tee times. This is a great book on many levels. I recommend it highly.
Book Review: Not Just Another Pretty Face Summary: 5 Stars
This book is very pleasing to the eye, with dramatic photos and gorgeous colors. I was not sure that it would be able to help my golf game, as I wondered if Tiger's tips would be far above the head of someone at such a beginner level. However, the stop-action series of photos of Tiger's swing were enough for me to fork over the money. What I have found is information helpful for golfers at every level. It is well-written and very understandable. If you only buy one golf book, this should be it, as it covers just about every aspect of the game from putting to driving to the mental game. Most golfers dream of golfing next to someone as talented as Tiger. This book is the next best thing.
Book Review: Essential Reading - Clear - Ranks with Hogan's Five Lessons Summary: 5 Stars
"How I Play Golf" by Tiger Woods is clearly written and easy to understand. It's fun to read. You only have to watch Tiger Woods play to realize that he knows the secrets of how to play great golf. Tiger reveals his secrets in this book. It's a MUST READ! I recommend that anyone interested to learn to play golf well should get a copy of Tiger Woods' "How I Play Golf", and a copy of Ben Hogan's "Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf". Take these two books apart from cover to cover, get lessons, have you're swing video-taped and analyzed, and then practice playing golf with insight and correct understanding of the game.
Book Review: Grand Slam of a Book Summary: 5 Stars
Just as Tiger Woods is the real deal as a golfer and as a human, so is his book "How I Play Golf."
I bought this book when it first came out. Seven years later, it continues to be a reference I use over and over.
This book is well written, well organized, and is printed on high quality glossy stock. Everything about it is top notch, reflecting the excellence you expect from Tiger Woods.
Hands down, with few exceptions, I'd put Tiger and his book up against the teaching-pro trinket books of the day that are spewed out of the printing presses on almost a daily basis.
Book Review: Better than Hogans Fundamentals of Golf Summary: 5 Stars
If you want to improve your game this is the book for you. There is no boring reading here, Tiger teaches you through pictures. Golf is not easy, but this book makes it as easy as possible. I've read every instructional publication out there and this is no fluke. I doesn't matter if your a scratch or 36 handicap, you owe it to your game to buy this book. Over the last two nights of reading, i've learned more than I have in a life span of golf. As a college golfer I will look at this book everynight to see where my game is and where it should be. Everyone from a serious golfer to a a weekend duffer should have this book.
