Book Review: Recommended by a old rookie. Summary: 5 Stars
I'm 49 years old and relatively new to golf. When it came to buying a book on how to play I looked at the zillions of choices available and decided, what the heck, this Tiger guy apparently isn't too bad. He might know a thing or two. So I bought the book and can honestly say the rumours are true. Tiger knows how to pitch, putt, and drive with the best of them and does a fine job of explaining it all here in simple language that even a mere mortal like myself can understand (but not always duplicate). The photos are outstanding as are his many reflections on various tournaments and past championships. I especially enjoyed his comments regarding the mental aspect of the game....how to stay in control, handle problems, and master the mind game. Highly recommended for beginners like me. Book Review: Destined to Be A Classic! Summary: 5 Stars
Tiger will not only be one of the game's greatest players, but also one of the game's greatest students! From his coach to his competitors to observers, he is known as one so passionate about the sport that he studies, refines and experiments with what is best for him. This is an exceptional production -- large in format, with wonderful photos and drawings and aids to communicate visually the teaching point Tiger is getting across. It works! For example, see the neat grip guesser visual on putting pressure. Many of us amateurs don't even begin to think about grrip pressure, especially with the blade. The section on the head game is superb! Tiger's strength is here and there is such good advice and an abundance of it. I'm just starting to mine this top-notch resource which we've all been excited to have from Tiger. From that captivating, genuine smile on the cover through each page, we will find much to import into our golf games. Play away!
Book Review: A book I Keep coming back Too Summary: 5 Stars
I bought Tiger's book several months ago as a I started learning to play golf in earnest. My experience has been similar to those others who have reviewed this book - excellent! However, one point I wanted to add was that I find that the book as a wealth of specific points (such as tee and ball address positions depending on club selection etc), that at first seem too detailed, though ultimately are sought for as your level of play increases. Even the ordering of the book's chapters at first seem odd (the swing is somewhere in the middle), but it's fair to say make much more sense once you've been using it for some few months. This alone indicates it's excellent value for money as a resource of pictures, advice and lessons learned you can keep coming back too as your game progresses and you're ready to move onto the next level. And when Tiger hands over some golfing advice - you pay attention
Book Review: You have changed my game! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't have a lot of time to play golf but have tried to play the game since I was a kid (I'm now in my 50'sl. I enjoy playing a lot but, because I play so infrequently, I've never seen any improvement in my game. I have only taken a few lessons in my life but never could get the "swing" until I read this book. I have experienced a renewal in my love for the game and I am motivated to constantly improve my skills rather than to continue to be frustrated. This book is extremely well-written and the pictures make the game come alive. Tiger's grip has changed my game forever. I have already sent this book to other golfers in my family since I found it to be the best that I've seen. Thanks, Tiger, for this great book and for being such a terrific role model for all of us old duffers and for the kids in the world too!
