Book Review: Sweet, beautifully illlustrated bedtime story...

My 4 year old loves this book. The book begins with dinosaurfathers, who are human, not dinosaurs, putting their dinosaur children to bed. Dinosaur mommys (human) put their dinosaur babies to bed in the second half of the book. Some of the dinosaurs pout, some ask for another story to be read, some keep on playing and refuse to go to bed. I think any parent or grandparent who has tried to put a child to bed will recognize the scenarios. My son certainly recognized some of his excuses and commented "I do that sometimes". This book is sweet and not too long. It is very funny and beautifully illustrated. Highly recommended as a bedtime story.Book Review: Great Motivation for Little Ones Who Love Dinosaurs

We have a family story time every night and actually checked this book out from our local library. My son ADORES dinosaurs and spends alot of time pretending that he is one. The book gives examples and shows pictures of dinosaurs doing all the things that kids sometimes do at bedtime (like throwing themselves on the bed and crying or demanding a piggyback ride)and then says, "No,...." and tells how dinosaurs DO act at bedtime. It's great motivation for kids to try to act like dinosaurs at bedtime. We read it on three consecutive nights and my son was then able to "read" it word for word to us - it made him feel great!Book Review: Bedtime with a dose of Humor

Jane Yolen has written a lovely bedtime story about the way little dinosaurs go to bed and say good night. Do they slam their tales and pout? Do they throw their teddy bears all about? No... they give kisses and hugs and whisper good night. This is a wonderful bedtime book, told in rhyme that will amuse and delight your pre-schoolers as they enjoy the familiar antics of going to bed. With large expressive illustrations and an easy rhyming pattern, children will be able to "help" you read this story in no time. This is the perfect book to share before tucking in and turning out the lights and a great addition to home libraries.Book Review: We Love It!

How could this book not recieve 5 stars? My first encounter I had with this book was at a daycare I worked at for the 2 year olds and they always requested it and loved it. Of course after reading it so many times it became memorized and they would help by shouting out words here and there. I loved it so much I made it a point to get it for my daughter and she has the same reaction. We read it every night and she knows the story, acting it out and recalling parts here and there. I got the paper back because it was cheaper but we'll be getting the hard back soon due to so much use. Definitely a title that should be included in your library.Book Review: Great Bedtime fun...with manners

The first thing I noticed was the great art work. Without words it would still be fun to look at. They are colorful and full of little things to notice, like the names of each dinosaur, toys, etc..
The dad and mom both take turns trying to put them to bed. It gives examples of bad bedtime behaviors and askes if that is how they say goodnight. At the end it tells how good dinosaurs turn out the light and give hugs and kisses... and go to sleep. It's a fun book that my son has memorized the words too. He has favorite parts that he can hardly hold back the giggles till I say it. We both like the hugs and kisses best though.
