Book Reviews of Hour GameBook Review: The best in the "King and Maxwell" series. Summary: 4 Stars
David Baldacci has shown with this book his ability to write a good, old-fashioned "whodunit". A good mystery story. The best part of the book is the main characters, Sean King and Michelle Maxwell, two ex-secret service agents turned detective. These characters have great interplay between each other, harkening back to Nick and Nora from the famous "Thin Man" series of the 1930's. The story is good, too, with enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. A wonderful read for Baldacci fans.
Book Review: 3&3/4 Stars!! Good thriller, but far from Baldacci's Best. Summary: 4 Stars
Story is based around two characters, (Michelle ex-olympian star, and Sean King an ex-secret service agent- both now are detectives) who are hired to solve a burglary but stumble upon a serial killer's 'bread crumb' trail. Not a bad book, pretty entertaining but not as good as his other books. Try 'The Winner' or 'Absolute Power' if you are a first time reader of David's.
Book Review: Good Mystery Read Summary: 4 Stars
Unlike many of the reviews herein, I really liked the book and the complex plot issues. I didn't need to take notes, I just kept following the trail and attempting to solve the mystery. I thought the ending was unique and the chemistry between Michelle and Sean is great. I'm a Baldacci fan and will read his next book as well.
Book Review: Better than Split Second Summary: 4 Stars
I thought this "sequel" to Split Second was better than it's predecessor, but still not quite up to the level of some of Baldacci's previous offerings. Reminded me a bit of James Patterson's Women's Murder Club series, but more complex. Kept me guessing.
Book Review: Good Read but.... Summary: 4 Stars
This was my first book with the Michelle Maxwell & Sean King characters. It was "ok". I enjoyed it, but the pace wasn't consistent. It did have a lot of characters, but was nonetheless interesting.
I enjoyed Simple Genius a lot more.
