Book Review: Korzonas tells you why, so you actually listen

I'm an intermediate brewer with four years experience. Korzonas' book is all about brewing from extract. Oh, how I wish volume II on full grain brewing would be published. Of all the brewing books I've seen his is hands down the best. Very helpful is the fact that he tells you WHY instead of just WHAT with the result that you actually LISTEN and brew better beer.
He covers every ingredient in beer with many helpful charts. He does this without being overly technical and giving you information you really have no need for. He's interested in helping the home brewer not displaying his wonderful researching capabilities. He also corrects common bad-advice offered in other brewing books - and again, tells you WHY it's bad advice.
I often say brewing is a fun hobby because you can brew drinkable beer on your first try, but you can also get as technical and precise as you want(and the more you brew, the more you want). Korzonas' book offers you an easy starting chapter that allows you to simply brew your first batch. Then he gives you the rest.
