Book Reviews of Holy Blood, Holy GrailBook Review: Everyone who Christian should read this book... Summary: 5 Stars
I first read this book when it came out in 1983 and while I was a ministerial student in Seminary. While reading this book I experienced many emotions and consulted religious advisors who were older and more mature than myself within my own denomination as well as friends who were clergy in other denominations. None told me that I should ignore the book and one even said that it was probably true. The one that told me that was the one I trusted the most since he was a Roman Catholic priest and had worked in some areas of great responsibility within the church. He went on to say, "We really only know what the church fathers decided to tell us." Wow, did that NOT make me feel better.
Although I continued my Seminary courses, graduated and was ordained, this book forever changed my life and my way of thinking about Christianity. I understood the need to be a little more open minded in my thinking and not feel the need for everything written in the Bible to be 100% factual for my faith in God to remain strong. I personally believe that "the Church" in its wisdom chose to mislead us and only history will determine whether or not that was a blessing or a curse. I for one do not believe that God is pleased with this misleading...
Book Review: This is a must read Summary: 5 Stars
This is an essential read for anyone who wants to understand the subtexts of western politics. Many readers will find the central thesis of this book incredible or fantastic. Others will see it as a confirmation of long held suspicions. I first became aware of the "background" influence of freemasronry on our culture while I was studying Russian at the DLI annex in Texas 1983. The "Scotch Rite" shrine at the Alamo and the US Army's regulations on Masonic jewelry got me wondering how I missed this information in college level history courses. This book was first given to me by the head of the Scotch rite in Minneapolis. When I got into the "craft" seriously in 1989 I found that nearly all brother masons took this book seriously, and had read it! Having since met some of the members of the "bloodline" in global scientific enterprises (Astronautics) , the central premise of the book conforms with personal experience. Certain activities will bring one in touch with the "underground stream". The authors give the best non-initiatory guide to the central mystery of Western culture. If you haven't read this classic, I envy you . You are in for one hell of a ride!
Book Review: Great entry into the truth about Christianity Summary: 5 Stars
I was already aware through my vast religious studies that the Catholic Church had masterminded "The Big Lie" about the true legacy of Christ, but this book offered many new and exciting avenues to explore further. There are millions of "Christians" out there blindly following a religion they have never bothered to examine, study or look into beyond a cursory reading of the Bible, and it really bothers me that so many people know so little about the man they proclaim to worship and adore. Jesus was a man with one hell of a history and a legacy that continues to this day. If you truly love this man and what he stands for, do yourself a favor and get educated by reading as many differing opinions and studies as you can. The Catholic Church alone has destroyed much of the literature that could reveal the truth to us, so we are already at a great disadvantage, but books like this and others by James Shelby Spong, Barbara Thiiering, Laurence Gardner, etc. are working to reveal the truth behind the big lie. Wonderful, dedicated work. Also read "The Messianic Legacy," and then read a few different Bibles to see just how distorted and different they are - the truth is out there somewhere!
Book Review: The Holy Blood And Holy Grail Summary: 5 Stars
Dear Amazon: I found this book quite interesting, the information that Amazon.com has in this packet has put a new spin on very old and interesting legends. First of all, my own last name and the interesting details of King Clovis has significance.....Clovis was the protectors of two boys whom would be kings of England in the early 200's AD, my last name in Irish is "Brehon", or the Family Of The Runes, basically the Family whom wrote the Runes. This King Clovis protected Uther and Aurelius whom if legend serves right became the Kings Of Britian, Aurelius first then his younger brother Uther next after Aurelius was poisoned. Anyone whom has read the 3 books of the Pendragon Cycle by Author Stephen R. Lawhead knows that this history from the 200's-600'sAD set the stage for the very rise of the Kings Of England clearing on into Robin Hood's time to the present Monarch of England we have now. I am a genealogist and spent 7 years studying my family tree of the Real Brewster Family Line, since I am the last......much of our ancestry is not traced from 300 years ago only from 300 years ago not before it, this information puts a fresh new look on this.
Book Review: Not for the strong at heart Summary: 5 Stars
First off, let me say that this is a slow read, unless you are at all interested in the history of the Priory of Sion, Knights Templar or the divinity of Jesus. Second, let me say that this book is not for Christians who are deeply confirmed with their faith, for they will see this book as nothing but pure garbage. Now on to the book...This book offers great insight into the past. Not only does it lay out good framework for other authors of the same subject but it also lays out its evidence clearly. Timelines, geneaology, and historical documents are the backbone of this book. It is hard to believe that someone who would read this book could say that all of the information is false. I'm not saying that everything is true, but what I am saying is that the theories and speculations in this book are indeed very probable. If anyone knows their pre-medieval European history then they would certainly know the heresies that surrounded certain sects of Christianity, especially those of Arianism and Gnosticism. With that being said it is clear to the educated reader how some of these probable truths that the Church has tried to hide can be actual truths. Have fun reading this one I know I did.
