Book Reviews of HogfatherBook Review: The best Pterry I ever read. Summary: 5 Stars
After reading about 10 Pterrys this is the one book I would give my mother to start reading Terry Pratchett. It's a fantastic story about Death who represents Hogfather, the Discworld version of Santa Claus. Unfortunately Hogfather has some problems with the Revisores (or however they are called in the english version). Susanne, Death's daughter, helps him to rescue Hogfather. I like this book because we learn a lot more about Death and his family and Death actually is the best character in all Discworld books.
Book Review: Hilarious! Summary: 5 Stars
This book was brilliant. It contains great humor! It was one of the funniest books I'd read in a long time. Terry Pratchett portrays 'Death' brilliantly. I liked the whole concept of Death taking over the Hogfather's job and doing his best, even if his best isn't very good. Terry Pratchett's humor is totally different to anything I've ever seen and it's this type of humor that draws me to this book.Characters are excellent and well written. Personally, I would consider it the best Discworld novel.
Book Review: Happy Hogswatch Summary: 5 Stars
I gave a few of this book out as Christmas presents and it's a good thing I got them early enough because I opened one to read a few pages and had to finish it. A fun, witty, and thoughtfully written book. Skyone did a good job on the TV movie (CD out in March 08) but, as usual, the book is better for its detail, pace, and completed thoughts; I'll be stocking up on the CD though, for next Christmas. A good read anytime, but I'm trying to start a fun family Hogswatch tradition.
Book Review: HO HO HO!!! Summary: 5 Stars
HO HO HO! Pratchett at his best. Death is one of my two favorite characters, the other being the Luggage, and I must say that this is Death as I've never seen him before. He was funny in Mort, but this book brings out a new side of him (which, I might add, Pratchett also tried to do in Mort, but not as well). The ending is a little bland, but the department store scene was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever read. HO HO HO!
Book Review: hillarious*****where is the 6th star? Summary: 5 Stars
this was one of the funniest books I've ever read, death is probably my personal favorite of the disc's characters. and this is probably death at his funniest! The footnotes were very entertaining, and terry pratchett put alot of work into this novel, it is very imaginative, and creative. Deffinatly a must for anyone who enjoys brittish humor and has the time to read the 250+\- pages it contains.
