Book Reviews of His Panic: Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S.

Book Review: Misguided by Ethinicity
Summary: 1 Stars

Unfortunately, Mr. Rivera wants to place the onus of fear on anyone who wants their immigration laws enforced. I disagree with his premise that people are afraid of Hispanics. He is only perpetrating more disinformation out to the public. Geraldo is biased. Geraldo is blinded by is ethnicity. I don't believe the information in the book is objective. Being objective is the first rule of good journalism. Until Geraldo can put his bias aside I can't spend any money on this book. I find it interesting that he has a law degree yet for the sake of his ethnicity he would ask the American citizen to set aside the rule of law.

Book Review: Another Traitor!
Summary: 1 Stars

Geraldo supports the Illegal Alien invasion no matter what the cost to Americans. His only agenda is to make millions while destroying America and everything She stands for. Don't waste your money on this despicable traitor.

Book Review: THERE IS NO Link Between Illegal Immigration and Terrorism
Summary: 5 Stars

FINALLY THERE IS A BOOK THAT SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON ILLEGAL HISPANIC IMMIGRATION IN THIS COUNTRY -- IT IS "HIS PANIC" His Panic: Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S.. The book sets the record straight on hispanics and illegal immigration in this country and dispells numerous myths about immigration. For example the book establishes that: 1. no hispanic (illegal or otherwise) has ever been associated with a terrorist act in this country; 2. the crime rate is ACTUALLY LOWER among illegal immigrants than the rest of the US population (see coincidentally Today's Wall Street Journal); 3. Puerto Ricans ARE actually United States Citizens; and 4. All of the 9/11 highjackers entered this country legally with visas issued by INS (the predecessor to the Department of Homeland Security). I recommnend this book without reservation to anyone who wants to be informed on the most volitile issue of our time. By the way, I actually read the book and found it to be a great read.

Book Review: Pinpointing the problem and backing it with facts
Summary: 5 Stars

Ok, so I'm no Geraldo fan by any means, but I must admit, this book is enlightening. The title was what actually intrigued me, and it was after being hooked on the concept that I realized the author was Geraldo. But like I said, it shouldn't deter anyone from examining the message conveyed. The fact is, the issues surrouding illegal immigration are complicated and at this point, seem unresolvable. I appreciate that Geraldo attempts to extricate the multilayers and present the facts behind the debates and emotional uproar. The "Hispanic immigration problem" is something we can't just ignore or make generalizations about. We have to learn the facts to understand the underlying tension. His Panic offers the reader a chance to rethink this heated and complicated topic and come up with his or her own independent thoughts and opinions--which is what good media should do in the first place.

Book Review: HIS PANIC: WHY AMERICANS FEAR HISPANICS IN THE US
Summary: 5 Stars

His Panic: Why Americans Fear Hispanics in the U.S.
In a nutshell this book is about Hispanic illegal immigration and how - contrary to all conservatives on the topic - illegal immigration ( Hispanic, Mexican, Cuban or otherwise) is NOT responsible for any terrorist acts in this country or higher incidence of crime. In fact, in today's Wall Street Journal there is an article about a study that shows that illegal immigrants in California are less likely to commit crimes. In addition, NONE of the 10 hijackers of 9/11 attack entered this country illegally. They all had visas issued by INS - currently the department of homeland security. The book also points out the unfair treatment of hard working immigrants who contribute to social security, pay taxes and will never be able to get anything back. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to know the REAL facts about Hispanic immigration in this country. As for Legal Citizen's comment about Mr. Rivera's legal status- FYI Puerto Ricans are US Citizens by birthright. They are NOT immigrants and cannot be deported.
