This was the first Nora Roberts book I couldn't finish. If I want to read about bodies being blown up I'll pick up a newspaper.Book Review: Big disappointment

I am a HUGE Nora Roberts fan, but this was my least favorite of her books. A majority of the book involves long, detailed, drawn-out descriptions of the main character in hostage negotiation sequences. Although I usually enjoy Roberts' detail and her ability to create a sharp image in my mind of the story's events, in this book I became bored and impatient with all of the detail. The story line was unusually predictable and tedious. I'm glad this wasn't the first Nora Roberts book I read as it probably would have been my last. I'll be re-reading some of my Roberts' favorites to get this one out of my head.
