I found this book to be very disappointing . From the heart of a Born again Christian it was most difficult to turn each page and swallow each chapter not knowing what absurd type religious beliefs were going to be brought into the story line next . It was not at all what I was expecting and left me feeling quite cold. It almost made me feel as if Kate's deceased husbands life was made a mockery . I would not want this Chaplain to comfort me or pray over me in a time of need in the Maine woods . You see I am a native of Maine and I had family that served in this Fish & Game Dept. up in the North Woods of Maine . This very gentle man was a real servant of the Lord and his story was one told quite differently . While I respect this authors candor and sharing her honesty , it does dishearten me to know that one interprets Gods word in such a worldly manner . I could not in good conscience recommend this book to fellow Christians .
