Without drawing this review into a debate, this book is a must read for the rest of the military and gives a glimpse of what one man has been through. Big Kudos and a thank you to Brian Turner. This book of poems is beautiful and painful and should be read by everyone, either for against this misguided war in Iraq. The poems touch me in ways I had not expected, and help me understand more of these strange people who live so far away and with whom our troops are interacting every day.Book Review: An inspiration to all the men and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This was the first book of poems I bought and it was a great comfort to me. I have served in Iraq three times and it is great to read something from someone that has been on the ground. This is something every veteran from Iraq and Afghanistan will cherish for years.
