Book Reviews of Heart and SoulBook Review: I'm never disappointed with Maeve Binchy Summary: 5 Stars
I have missed the last few Maeve Binchy books and just had to get this one. I have been reading her books since Circle of Friends and there is not one yet that I haven't loved.
As always, Heart and Soul is filled with wonderful characters that soon seem like real people and friends and you just can't wait to turn the page and see what happens in their lives. This one is set in Dublin and is set around a doctor, Clara Casey, and the heart clinic where she practices. Two grown daughters, an ex-husband, staff, patients and the Irish community they are in. Overall, it adds up to another wonderful read from Maeve Binchy.
Book Review: Maeve Binchey scores again! Summary: 5 Stars
Just a wonderful read as we have to come to expect from Bichey.
She brings in characters from some previous novels, the NIGHT
RAIN AND STARS and characters from SCARLET FEATHER. So much fun,
its like having company, having these lovely characters show up
again. I have read every single thing that she has written that
is available in the United States and have not ever been disappointed.
Her characters made me feel like they are my friends and neighbors,
people I know well. Such a warm good feeling to read a book like this,
almost like a having a "buttery tea," on a cold winter's day.
Book Review: New characters you'll love and hate Summary: 5 Stars
Reading Maeve Binchy is akin to reading recent Ireland history, but more absorbing. Irish society has changed since Binchy gave us Circle of Friends and this she reveals through intriguing new characters and situations. In Heart and Soul, the reader is transported to modern Dublin with occasional side trips to Poland. Old characters, which we love in her many other books, make appearances; new characters cause tears and laughter and occasional exasperation. The author created a convincing commentary on modern Irish society. Kudos to Maeve Binchy.

Book Review: Like visiting old friends Summary: 5 Stars
I received the book from Amazon yesterday at 2 p.m. (home sick from work) and now it is 8 a.m. and I have finished it. It was, as expected, like visiting old friends and finding out what had been going on in their lives. My favorites are Nora and Aidan, but I was delighted to reconnect with the characters from Nights of Rain and Stars, Tom and Cathy, Simon and Maud. This is a beautifully-written book, one of Maeve's best. I should probably donate it to my library, but I won't. In a few months, I'll probably want to read it again.
Book Review: Vintage Binchy Summary: 5 Stars
After a couple of novels that I didn't care for, Binchy is back on top with this novel set in a heart clinic in Dublin.
We see Maude and Simon as teenagers, but the same as ever. We see Aidan and Nora about to go through many changes as they reach retirement years. Brenda Brennan is back as well as Cathy and Tom Feather. The new characters seamlessly intertwine with these others to create one really enjoyable read.
This is a definite keeper.
