Book Review: Finally Some Real Solutions

My son developed eczema by the time he was 1 month old. I didn't feel comfortable with giving a child that young cortisone creams, steroids, and more steroids. I did give in though because a. I was desperate and b. that is what the doctors all push. Nonetheless, I was determined to find a real solution. So on top of seeing a dermatologist, I went to an allergist, a homeopathic doctor, a naturopathic doctor, and eventually even a pediatric gastroenterologist. Most of them had bandaid solutions. The homeopathic and naturopathic doctors were a help, but with little understanding as to what exactly they were doing and why, seeing them was not that effective. This book helped point me into the right direction. It helped me navigate through all the material out there about eczema. It explained what was really happening in my sons body. I could begin the healing process. Christina Nevada doesn't dumb you down. Her book is full of information but she takes a relaxed approach to the changes that need to be made. She recognizes how overwhelming it can get. At the same time she doesn't try to placate you with pretending that there is an easy fix. She is a balanced and very wise voice in the middle of our medicating culture. It has been over a year since I have gotten this book. I have done a lot more research than just reading this book. I can say that Christinas information is solid and true. And my son is much better for it.
