Harry Potter
And the
Sorsers Stone
By: J.K. Rowling
I rate this book a 10!!! This book is about Harry Potter and his first year at Hogwarts school of and Wizardry. There he will find friends, like Hermione and Ron, teachers, like Professor Snape, and a stone of magical power behind every corner.
The characters are three friends, Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Harry is a boy with black hair and glasses. He is the main character and in the book, he defeats the dark lord, Voldormort, for the time-being. And there's Harry's best friend, Ron. A red haired, freckle face boy. He lives in a poor family and is not, well, he's a little rude. And last, Hermione. She's a smart, brown haired girl with non-magic parents. She is the smartest of the three friends.
The setting is in Hogwarts school of Witch craft and Wizardry. Which is a big school for kids that are Witches or wizards.
The theme is bravery, and friendship. Harry must be brave to kill Voldormort, the dark wizard who killed Harry's parents. Harry must kill him with the help of his friends, Ron and Hermione.
The story ends when Harry is in the Hospital Wing after fighting Voldormort. Now it's your turn to read the book and find out if Harry killed Voldormort, or just drove him away.
Book Review: Un-put-down-able Summary: 5 Stars
I picked up my first Harry Potter book after months of scepticism. The scepticism was ensconsed in my belief that anything so popular has its popularity driven by mob-mentality. Over the years I have been proven wrong as often as I have been proven right in being sceptical about things. Harry Potter, I am happy to say, was what made me start giving the popular works a fair try.
What makes Harry Potter special? Are J. K. Rowling's ideas new? A search on Google, if not your own knowledge will tell you that they aren't. But it is her art of storytelling that is truly spellbinding. The statement that there is a wizarding world that co-exists with ours, the statement that very few in our world are aware of this parallel world, the statement that all our childhood beliefs about witches flying on their brooms are not entirely misplaced, the statement that magic is a science that is not obscure or arcane but is taught in certain schools - all these make very compelling reading. Throw in a growing teenage hero - someone who shows an arc of development and is far from perfect, a menacing villain and a story that gets progressively darker as our hero grows older and you have a sure winner.
Book Review: "To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." Summary: 5 Stars
While the later books in the series are satisfying because they are long, complex epics, the first book in the Harry Potter series ("The Sorcerer's Stone") is sort of like hot chocolate in winter. It's warm, cozy, sweet, and just so good. It's clearly evident why this book launched the Harry Potter franchise off from the ground, and why it is different from all other modern fantasy. Harry Potter is just on a whole different level.
One can tell that J. K. Rowling wrote this book with the entire series in mind. She already knew what would happen in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and the yet-to-be-released 7th book. That is apparent from the narration, the way the characters talk, the things they say, and the symbolism of the events that take place. Not only is this a very smart book, it is also entertaining beyond compare to any other series. The amounts of quotables from this book is amazing (especially from Dumbledore).
This book goes down as a modern classic. That is simply undeniable.
10/10 Classic.
Book Review: Amazazing! Summary: 5 Stars
This is clearly the best book in the series to read at an early age. Its non-lengthly and vert exiting and will get children wnting to read bigger books like the rest of the series. It is about a teenage boy who lives with his dispicable relatves the Dursleys becouse his parents died in what he thinks is a car accidents. He gets an overbearing amount of acceptance letters to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry delivered by many pesky owls. He finally figures out he is a wizard fom the letters that his dispicable uncle ahd to try to keep from him. He goes to Hogwarts on a train that Harry had to walk through a wall to get to it. On the way in the bus he met Ron Weasley who eventually realizes he is talking to a living legend. Harry's parents had actually died by the wand of Voldemort. Voldemort was ann evil wizard who tried to kill the magic world. Harry survived becouse his mom saved hm in a strange way. Buy this book and read the amazing story of Harry Potter

Book Review: Excellent children's literature Summary: 5 Stars
I started reading Harry Potter a few years ago so that I could find out if they were suitable for my kids. Guess, what? I'm a well-educated adult, and I love Harry Potter! I can't believe that I can be so entertained by something that every kid on the block is reading (usually I don't go for children's fantasy).
Sophisticated adults will complain that this is derivative and "light." Yes, it is. It's children's literature, and that's what kids like. But, this is superior children's literature. The writing is exceptional, the characters are deep, the humor is subtle enough for adults to enjoy. It's very well done. I wish that all of the stuff my kids were reading was done this well.
I'm thrilled that, because of Harry Potter, children are reading large novels again. I know several kids who've been inspired to read, and to not be intimidated by big books, because of J.K. Rowling. If you have only seen the movies and haven't read the books, you are really missing out. --FanLit.net
