I remember this book vividly from my childhood, and made sure to buy it and read it to my children. There is enough positive, personal affirmation power in this book to give a kid a dearly needed boost of importance and remind them that they have a right to be here, a purpose, and that the world is glad that they are here.I also recommend If I Ran the Circus -and- If I Ran the Family !

This book isn't just for children. Its for anyone who wants to feel like a child. For my mother's 50th birthday, I got her a fairy princess crown and a fairy princess wand, then read this book aloud to all the guests as she sat holding her wand and wearing her crown. It was a lot of fun. Then I passed the book around for everyone to sign.You don't have to be a kid to enjoy Dr. Seuss.

I bought this book for both my youngest daughter and our cousin, both who were turning one.
Of course this book is way too advanced for them but I brought it to their 1st birthdays and had everyone who was in attendance sign it. I love looking at all the adorable things people have said and can't wait to show it to them as they get older.

Dr. Suess books are always a joy... this is geared to the older child and adult. A great book with a great message. I bought this for my son's first birthday. I had everyone at the party sign it like a guest book ~ a nice keepsake for him! I'll be able to read it to him when he's a little older. Right now, he wants to tear the pages!
