Book Reviews of Guitar Fretboard WorkbookBook Review: Very Impressive... Summary: 5 Stars
This book has been great. It's not one of those "I have all the answers. You are bad at guitar, and this is how to play correctly." It's a very friendly and simple book. It essentially makes you learn from VERY basic (yes, I admit, I flew by a good number of chapters at the first) to the little particular things that I had never really noticed before. This book makes you think. It makes you look at the fretboard differently, which is a GOOD thing. It makes you take all the knowledge of scales and intervals, chords and notes and it pounds it in your brain like no other. A GREAT buy for guitar students (listen up guitar teachers! this could really help a student!) and anyone who wants to explore the fretboard a little more. Thanks, Amazon!
Book Review: Fantastic Summary: 5 Stars
Sorry my Portuenglish.
I recommend this product. It's fantastic if you are'nt a full time guitar student, but likes this instrument end decided to play it until the end (and I'm talking about the the real end).
The five paterns and the lessons are fantastic. If you follow it you will memorize the fretboard and also learn to find the notes if you forgot something.
But, if you buy it, go step by step and moves to a new lesson just when you have the previous fresh on memory. It must occur also when the book says to keep some practices in parallel. Do it step by step.
I also recommend buying some little round adesives (sticks) to fix on the fretboard (7th fret, 3rd string, D=red). It helped me a lot.
Book Review: Learning the guitar fretboard Summary: 5 Stars
I found this book to be very through and I am able to move through it at a nice pace. You can tell it was put together by a teacher with years of experience. He has provided the tools and the explanations to go with it. I highly recommend this book to any guitar player that does not know the fret board. I have been playing for 30 years and am finally learning what the notes are that I'm playing. This book has provided the missing piece to my ability to learn songs much faster.
If you ever wanted to learn the guitar fretboard this book will get you there. So bite the bullet and take a step back to move two steps forward, you won't regret it. I wish I had done it 30 years ago, better late than never.
Book Review: another great MI title! Summary: 5 Stars
from a purely academic perspective, a guitarist would have a hard time doing better than this bk. like building a wall brick by brick, every chapter adds to the last, re-enforcing the previous lessons as they are applied to new ones. this allows one to build a strong foundation from which to expand understanding of the mechanics of guitar theory and how to apply that info in a functional way.
the amazon entry is a "look inside" type, so I won't go into the specifics. it's pretty self-explanatory. for me, approaching this info as a lifetime player looking to fill in gaps in fundamentals, a workbook like this was exactly what I needed. if you're serious about your obsession, you will benefit from this book
Book Review: Where has this been my whole life? Summary: 5 Stars
Let me just start off by saying that I am about 95% self taught on the guitar. I picked up my brothers and started to play around with it when i was about 10, he showed me a few chords, and off I went. I understand theory moderately well, as I played trumpet in high school band, but the guitar remained a mystery to me for a long time. The last year or so I felt like I hit a wall in my learning. Just got this book today and started on the 8th page, and after reading the first exercise, I thought to myself "Where has this book been for the last 10 years!?" If you've been playing a few years or more, and you feel like you're at a stand-still in your understanding of the guitar don't hesitate, get this book.
