Book Reviews of Guess How Much I Love You

Book Review: A Beautiful Story About Unconditional Love
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm just shocked that there are multiple reviews of this beautiful story that think there is anything about competition in it.

This story is about a parent trying to explain how vast and limitless his love is for the child. The comparisons the parent makes are simply to try to explain his love in measurable terms the child can understand. These comparisons get the child thinking in larger and larger terms, but even those can't measure the parent's love.

This story is about love -- not competition. I personally think children enjoy thinking that the parent's love is bigger than they can imagine.

Reviewers who think this story is about competition should try to use their imagination.

Book Review: Great Book
Summary: 5 Stars

Not only did this book bring back wonderful memories of my mother and I reaching as far as we could reach to show how much we loved eachother, but my son absolutly loves it. It's all in how you read the book. The more fun you put into reading, the better the book will come across. As my 5 month old son gets older, I'm sure we will be standing on our tip-toes reaching up to the sky to show how much we love one another. Those crabby people that said this book only makes it seem like love is a compition, are the same people looking for fault in every childrens show/movie, in order to do what they do best, which is crab. They're looking too much into it. Children do not look at it that way. It's all in good fun!!

Book Review: My son's first book, I read it to him even before he's born.
Summary: 5 Stars

Very sweet, touching and reflects the love that my baby is born with. When I was pregnant with my now 5 month old baby boy, my husband and I bought this book and every now and then I read it to him. I was deeply touch by it that I often end with tears in my eyes wishing I could cuddle him at that time. And now, we enjoy reading it together at bedtime while I feel every words, he enjoyed listening to me and looking at the cute pictures. We always ended up,together with my husband, the three of us cuddling each other. It's a perfect book for babies to begin with and also for parents to grow old with...unconditional boundless love. I love you Babes and Pumpkin pie right up to the moon and back!!

Book Review: Wonderful, sweet, a precious classic
Summary: 5 Stars

Story and illustrations are wonderful, and fun to read. This has been a favorite book of my daughters for a couple years now.... always making an appearance in their hands every couple weeks to read again and again!

The story is sweet, and started a little game between us where one of us says "I love you more!"... than the other says, "no, I love you more!" and over and over again. Silly, yes, but that's the fun in it.

This is a fun and warming story... leaves a great feeling in the parent and the child when reading as a bedtime story. This one is sure to leave the child with good dreams. Enjoy, and look into other Sam McBratney books if you like this one. They are all wonderful.

Book Review: Expresses a mother's love perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

My mom bought this for me as a gift after my first son was born. I had to go back to work when he was 3 months old. She gave it to me one weekend and I sat and read it and just started crying. It was when I read that last line--I love you all the way to the moon and back--that really touched me. It made me realize how much I was missing my baby boy during the day. I also noticed that Big Nutbrown Hare waits until the little one is asleep to say the last line. That also reflects how much a parent loves a child. He would never want to outdo his baby just because he's bigger. He let Little Nutbrown Hare go to sleep thinking he won that little game. What a sweet, sweet story.
