Book Reviews of Green for LifeBook Review: I loved it!! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book! It was very informative and easy to read. I am new to the raw food movement and still eat some cooked food, though that is lessening. One of my big concerns about going totally vegan was getting enough protein. Now after reading about greens and the amount of amino acids(the building blocks of protein) in them it makes total sense to do "Green Smoothies" so you'll get plenty of protein as well as other nutrients. My husband and I have been drinking green smoothies for a couple of weeks now with no other real conscious change to our diet (though I do notice I want to eat healthier and enjoy foods with less seasonings, sauces and/or salt) We both have more energy, clearer thinking and happier digestive tracks. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in their health and wanting to find a tastey way to get more greens!
Book Review: Important Information for all who want to be healthier. Summary: 5 Stars
This book has the answer to the question "Why don't I feel better after improving my diet so much?" As a vegetarian for almost five years, I too felt something was still missing. Although I'm not a raw foodist, the logic of the book was very convincing that we all, carnivores and vegetarians alike, need to add more green foods to our diet. This book shows you how easy and delicious it is to do so. Best of all, you don't have to buy expensive, highly processed "green foods" to do so. It's just a matter of running to your closest grocer to buy the greens you would never dream of eating (collards, kale, mustard greens, swiss chard, even radishes with their green tops) throw them in your blender with some fruit juice, banana, and frozen fruit and viola' an unbelievably delicious smoothie results! An easy, fast way to improve your health!
Book Review: Ann Wigmore for the Modern Age Summary: 5 Stars
This book is a valuable asset to my library.
Imagine... not just a way to get all of your RDA of fruits and vegetables, but in such a way that you barely even notice.
The concept of simply dumping your green veggies in with your daily smoothies is ingenious. You get all of the advantages of the fiber, phytochemicals and other nutrients with none of the sometimes objectionable taste.
I'm really happy I came across this book which shared this very workable solution. And not only is the book's formula great, but it was well-written and easy to follow, with great recipes.
You can enjoy more energy and vitality today simply by reading this book and following its advice. In today's world of hype and exorbitant claims, it doesn't get much better that.
Book Review: The book that started it all Summary: 5 Stars
I love this book because it really started me on my path to raw foods. I highly recommend it for everyone as the research is interesting, but especially those that are interested in incorporating more raw in their lives. Green smoothies are delicious and nutritious, and an easy way to begin. If you just add some fruit, you can blend a whole extra large salad's worth of greens and drink it down. Think of all the goodness! Plus, it gives you a starting point to then transition to raw if you like. I started having one of these every morning for breakfast about a year ago, and I still enjoy them. That turned into getting into dehydrating, and eventually I was 100% raw for three months. I'm now about 95% and the green smoothies are an important part of that. The book is also an easy read and interesting. So if you are on the fence, get it!
Book Review: This book changed my life!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I am so grateful for having found this book! For years I have tried so many times to eat only raw foods, only to fail every time. This book changed everything! Victoria's true wisdom shines through with valuable information that really brings it all together. After reading the book I started on lots of green smoothies and I have NEVER felt more alive and healthy. A myriad of health concerns vanished! I have been 100% raw ever since and LOVING it! As Victoria says, greens are the missing link. I loved her info about our cousins the Chimps and what a percentage of greens they eat!
This book has truly given me my life back and for that I am grateful.
From the bottom of my heart I recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple way to profoundly improve the qualitiy of their lives!
