Book Reviews of GracelingBook Review: The Grace of Understanding Your Audience Summary: 5 Stars
There are many young adult novelists who treat their readers as if they were less than young adults. In fact, I can think of several young adult novels where the novelists skirt practical and everyday adult issues so as to not offend their readers, leaving them in a perpetual state of Alice in Wonderland innocence. Cashore's debut novel, however, is a perfect link between childhood and adult. She has captured the perfect blend of childhood naivete and adult sophistication with her prose, and all is handled with a seemingly graceful understanding of her intended audience.
Book Review: Great author, great book Summary: 5 Stars
I recently gotten into reading more "young adult" fiction and am finding so many fantastic books I would have missed out on. This is one of them. The NYT Review of Books had a smashing review of it, and that is where I first thought to take a look at it. I wasn't disappointed. Great, strong female main character who doesn't turn wimpy and lonesome when the tough stuff starts. She stays true to herself and her beliefs. Lots of strong characters, both female and male, and a truly wonderful author whose work I will continue to look forward reading for years to come.
Book Review: Loved It! Could Not Put It Down! Summary: 5 Stars
I absolutely loved it! seriously stayed up all night reading it! i just had to know what happened! You will fall completely in love with the characters, especially if you are somewhat afraid of being control by someone else! I could completely relate with the main character on how she did not want to be told what to do and how to live. She was amazingly strong physically and just needed someone to show her how amazing she is mentally as well! Although the writing itself is not the best, the story and characters are! I defintely recommend reading this book!
Book Review: WOW! Summary: 5 Stars
The summary does not do this book justice, but if it did than it would spoil the book. I felt like I was actually experience the adventure alongside the main characters. This is definitely worth your buy and holds the attention of any age reader. I am 23, a new nurse, and this book help distracted me from the many stresses of life. I gave it to my 76 year old grandma and she also loved it. If you like adventure, excitement, and a little bit of romance than this book will suit you well. I also recommend Fire by Kristin Cashorn. Good reading!
Book Review: An Amazing Read! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful read for all ages, well, most ages there is some sexual content and defenitely violence. It has fantasy, romance, and best of all action!!!! Kristen Cashore wrote an amazing book and I am looking forward to the companion books, Fire (already read and is JUST as GREAT) and Bitterblue!!! I waited a long time to read it because the cover and back made me think it was too "fantasy" for my tastes, but I picked it up at school one day because I had nothing else to read and I was hooked within pages!!!
