Book Reviews of Graceling

Book Review: My new Favorite book!
Summary: 5 Stars

How can I even begin to review this book? How could I get you to trust me and read it, for it is one of the best book I've ever read? I can think of only one way: Must Read. I speak as I read. I'm happy. I'm sad. I'm scared. I'm relieved. I'm shocked. I'm waiting. Yes, all this while reading. Fiction, action, romance, friendship, fantasy, love, coping, dealing, Kings, Queens, evil, kindness, villain, killing... What else can you ask for in a book?

The writing was excellent, astonishing. The plot was full of magic and emotions. The characters, oh, the characters; they were unforgettable and brilliant. I can not even pick a character a loved the most. They all were above marvelous. I love Po and Katsa obviously, but the rest were equally amazing. I do love Po! Did I say that already?

I could not have imagined a better cover either, I loved the color, the effects and the eyes! The beginning, the ending and the story were all amazing. How she came up with all this, I have no idea. Needless to say, that whatever your reading preferences are, you have to read this book. I highly recommend it.

Book Review: A New World to Discover...
Summary: 5 Stars

Summary: Graceling is about a teenage girl named Katsa. She lives in a world, where people are born with amazing gift. They can climb trees, have super strength, automatic knowledge of weather, and many other graces. Graces are born with two very different eye colors. Katsa is one them. She killed a cousin when she was 8, causing her to become a henchwomen for her uncle, King Randa of Middlun. She also runs The Council with the help of her friends, that tries to put justice and fairness into the 7 nations. She meets a stranger, named Po, who is also graced. He is the first one to challenge her and they embark on an amazing journey.

My Review: I though it was a very well written. I like the characters, they were very in depth. I think it was an excellent first novel. The ending did surprise me, but it was still pretty amazing. I am looking forward to the prequel, Fire and Book 3.

Book Review: I want to be graced
Summary: 5 Stars

Graceling tells the story of a young woman who lives in a world where people are "graced." Meaning they were born with a gift, some of flight, speed, mind reading, but Katsa was gifted with one that people fear...the grace of killing.
Here Uncle is King Randa and he controls one of seven kingdoms, he keeps his people under control using Katsa as a threat. Katsa and her friends go behind his back and form a group of people who help others. While in the process of saving another kings father she runs into his grandson Po. From there starts a whirl wind of adventures, heroism, love, and sacrifice. Together Po and Katsa try and solve the mystery of who planned to kidnap his grandfather, while figuring out each others own deep dark secrets.

A five star book, I haven't been so excited to re-read a book in so long and this was well worth the re-reading.

Book Review: Gripping Seething 4 more
Summary: 5 Stars

I had gotten this book on Chrismas day, I started reading on the way to our ski vacation and once the lifts close not much is happening I had decided to start it and it wasn't very interesting until the 3rd or 4th chapters but once it too off and almost never slowed down.
The characters seemed realistic, during Po and Katsa's training sessions it actually feels like they are telling you the story themselves. A couple of bits of romance keep it realistic between higher aged teens rather than little kids on an adventure it had added some reality to the whole thing.
once I got started it was hard to put down, I had stayed up late into the night reading and got up early which I payed for the next day (a fair sacrafice)
A must-read I'll definately will recommend to my friends and is currently my favorite book. :D

Book Review: A Wonderful Debut Novel!
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVED Graceling! If you are looking for a new fantasy series, look no further!

Katsa is a fascinating character that I sometimes feel I can relate to, and who sometimes feels so amazingly foreign, and in such a refreshingly different way than Tolkien's elves (and so many other fantasy characters) do. I love the concept of a Grace, it is a new and unique twist into the realm of fantasy. The characters are wonderfully built, as is the land of seven kingdoms, and the political interactions throughout.

I was quite excited to discover on Ms. Cashore's web-site that a prequel, Fire, is coming in the future, as well as a sequel! This was a great read, and I would recommend it for any YA readers and adults as well!
