Book Reviews of Gordon Ramsay Makes It Easy

Book Review: One small problem
Summary: 4 Stars

One small problem I found is he does use some products that aren't as readily available in the US and in Europe such as Creme Fraiche. The DVD that comes with the book is excellent and shows and easy and quick these recipes can be.

Book Review: Good to have at home
Summary: 4 Stars

Gordon Ramsay it's one of the best chefs ever in television. This book, as all the Gordon Ramsay's book, is great for amateur cooks. I recommend it for anyone that wants to have a good cooking book at home.

Book Review: Easy Peesy
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this book and Healthy Eating, I will probably use this book more than the other.
Ramsay is wonderful and this book is great.

Book Review: Good. Not Great. But Good nonetheless.
Summary: 3 Stars

There's a great variety in this book (GR makes it easy). We've tried several different recipes and some are keepers. There's also a lot of fluff and filler pages. Too many pictures not of the food but of gordon posing, etc (yawn). BUT! Some great (useable) recipes in here and they aren't too complicated at all - they do take a little skill, but very do-able.

There's not a lot of attention to detail in this book (some of it is a bit vague, and some of the instructions are actually a little 'off'). Also the dvd has gordon making five of the recipes which is nice (although one of them isn't even in the book, but something similar is - again, attention to detail lacks. This book was really the work of others AND gordon and felt too much like a 'side-project' than a work of passion.

Bottom line - Great cook book for the money (at least on amazon it is).Don't expect a masterpiece, but a useable book nonetheless. It seems that if you are fairly new to cooking and want something practical - THIS - is maybe the best one.

Thanks gordon! This one will stay IN the kitchen.

*By three stars, I meant 'better than average', not 'less than good'*

Book Review: Needs Organization
Summary: 3 Stars

The cookbook has good recipes and the processes involved in making the recipes are short and simple; however, the book lacks organizations. There is a very simple table of contents and the index is organized by the name of the recipe and not the ingredients.

This book is more for the coffee table and not something to cook out of regularly. Since the book is not organized by main ingredients it is hard to say... I want to make a pork dish... and then look up pork dishes.

This book requires you to be more flexible. Many of the recipes call for ingredient that are somewhat difficult to get of hold of ie. venison, pheasant, star anise.

Also the book does not have very many recipes. It is full of pictures and each recipe takes up at least a full page. The lack of recipes makes the book inflexible.

As someone learning to cook, I would like a myriad of recipes so that I can cook with what I have available or ingredients which are easy to find.

**Update**
Try the better homes and gardens new cook book.
It is well organized and full of recipes.
Very easy to find recipes for ingredient on hand.
