Book Review: straightforward and pretty easy to use

Ramsay's book features a variety of recipes ranging from simple breakfasts to pretty elaborate dinner fare. For the most part, they are dishes featuring readily available ingredients and not requiring a world of preparation.
The biggest gripe I have is that the included DVD is so short - it features only a handful of dishes from the book, and watching Ramsay cook them not only shows you how it's done, but gives you a nice glance at his personality (something you can also gain a little input on based on the writing in the book, which tries not to be dull where possible).

I have to say im very happy I been dieing for his Risotto recipe and finally I found it in this book. His wild mushroom risotto and lobster spagatti. The recipes are both in metric and american measurements. There is a section that tells you what you need in your pantry and gives a list of what everyone should keep in their kitchen. This is a sign of a good cookbook when it is just not a list of recipes but also on techinques on how to cook.
This is a must for any Ramsey enthusiastic who loves his famous know recipes.

I love watching his BBC show, so I was excited to get one of his books. He always makes cooking look so easy, but these recipes are a little complicated. I was hoping for more basic recipes, but a lot of them are more appropriate for dinner parties and entertaining, not a basic dinner meal. There are a few I will use, but most of these recipes will probably go unused. Some of the basic kitchen lessons, pantry list sections are useful, I'll probably use this book the most for that.Book Review: Easy, Indeed

I've got a shelf full of cookbooks, and this has joined the pantheon of ones I use. Since I cook every meal at home --unless it's to go out to a really good restaurant (unfortuantely, I'm surrounded by chains), cookbooks are essential. What I like: the emphasis on basic and fresh ingredients, the layout, the handy CD, the lack of fussiness and also how one can create wonderful dishes with the most basic of kitchen tools.Book Review: he does make it easy!!!!

Gordon Ramsey does make it easy to use the recipes in his book. His dvd is clear and easy to follow. Some of the ingredients may be hard to find in this country but his way of cooking is simple and tasty. I love his attitude.."you can do this". Oh, and he uses our measurements for recipes.
