Berkley Breathed manages to create a world you recognize, as well as one you want to escape to. Like all the best fiction, he manages to depict the truth of our absurdities with enough humor to make us feel safe. A completely different approach than Calvin and Hobbs, but no less successful. Opus is listening to the same (boring) story he's heard zillions of times before when he departs from the text, in quite a spectacular way - flying through the milky way, going diving with Abe Lincoln's statue, nearly crashing into an airplane...!
It does go on and on for a while. Not for kiddos with short attention spans.

I love OPUS and all things Berkley Breathed. As such I much anticipated my order and was slightly disappointed in the lack of substance. A nice story with moral but not what I was expecting. Still I await my next order with anticipation and excitement.
